Neighborhood News Working Together for a GREAT Neighborhood

President’s Message

PGE Is Online

Like Lauri and me, I suspect you’ve had enough winter at this point. Getting up in the dark, bundling up, going out in the cold to work or to the store: these are things I can absolutely do without. But while more of this stuff may lie ahead, we’ve turned the corner on the weather—trust me on this!—and soon we’ll be out puttering in our yards planting flowers, trimming shrubs, and just enjoying our beautiful neighborhood.

The Plum Grove Estates Web site, http://www.pgepoa.org, provides neighborhood information at any time and anywhere. The site officially went live in January 2010 and includes the association by-laws and covenants, an area map, newsletters, notices, event photos, and committee and board information.

Last year was an eventful and, I believe, a productive one for your Board of Directors and Officers. We tackled several projects, including entrances and islands, which will be concluded this spring. We also launched our PGE website, with the hope and expectation that you will find this a very useful informational tool. Our social events were very well attended and provided lots of fun for our families. Over 130 residents attended the Christmas party, up from about 80 in 2008. What a great tribute this is to all of you! Unlike most places where I’ve lived, Plum Grove Estates provides the personal privacy that each of us values and lots of great opportunities to get to know your neighbors. We see walkers, runners, bikers (not so much in February) on a daily basis. We have many things to enjoy and be grateful for. As I have in the past, I am encouraging you to find some way you can contribute to making Plum Grove Estates an even better place to live.

There are always opportunities, and we can only imagine the array of talents that exist among us. Can you help us set up for PGE meetings or one of our parties? What about writing a contribution of general interest for our newsletter or Web site? Do you know an exceptional vendor or service provider whom other residents might love to know about? If you go to our Web site, www.pgepoa.org, you can email me or any of the other officers and directors to volunteer your time or to provide us with your thoughts and suggestions. We would really love to hear from you. In the meantime, stay warm and well and look forward to what I’m sure (?) will be an early spring! Randy Mitchell PGE POA President president@pgepoa.org

You can download this newsletter from the PGE POA Web site instead of receiving a printed copy. This saves printing and postage costs, and you can get your copy before the printed version is delivered! Send an email to Andrea Brennan, webadmin@pgepoa.org, to opt in to the e-newsletter list. Do you use Facebook and/or LinkedIn? Join the group Friends of Plum Grove Estates or Plum Grove Estates Neighborhood Network. These groups are not a function of the PGE Property Owners Association but are a great way to connect with your neighbors.
