Gallery Hours: Monday – Friday: 10 am – 7 pm, Saturday: 10 am – 4 pm MAY 11 – JUNE 29 UNREAL Unreal brings together the work of sculptor/draftsman Allen Linder, painter Benedict Oddi and ceramic sculptor Christina Osheim. All three artists create rich works of improbable invention tethered to a reality created in the act of making. The combination of Linder’s intricate ink drawings evoking mystery through the search for form, Oddi’s fantastical monochromatic landscapes, and Osheim’s abstract sculptures implying functional interaction creates a surreal mental and physical space in which the viewer can explore and discover their own personal narrative.

Main Gallery June 10- August 2, 2013 “Water Work” Water Work is about rivers, creeks, and waterways in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. The work in this exhibition was begun by the three Plein Aire painters, Lynn Mehta, Barbara Stepura and Sally V. Parker and was conceived with the idea of how water, with its beauty, commercial benefits and environmental impact, touches all of us. As was recorded by the first Impressionists, the movement of light on and near water provides these artists with the inspiration for these works as the action of refracted and reflected sunlight creates facets of gemlike quality and energizes even the deepest shadows.
