How to register for a Virtual STEAM activity In order to participate in Virtual STEAM activities, you must download Microsoft Teams® which requires a computer operating system of Windows 10 or newer. Registration for virtual STEAM activities is only available online at pgparksdirect.com. To register, you’ll need your PARKS DIRECT barcodes and PARKS DIRECT login information, course number, and MasterCard/VISA credit/debit card number. (Note: You must have a PARKS DIRECT account established prior to registering for any program. For information about obtaining a FREE PARKS DIRECT account, visit pgparksdirect.com.) • Once you’re on the PARKS DIRECT web site, search for activity codes or keywords using the search bar on the middle of the screen.

• Click the plus sign (+) in the first column to add an activity to your shopping cart.

• A footer appears at the bottom of the screen confirming your selection. Click “Add To Cart.” (Note: If you haven’t logged into your PARKS DIRECT account, you will be prompted to do so upon adding the activity to your cart.)

• Choose the customer from your account that will be participating in the activity by checking the box for each family member. You may enroll multiple people for the same activity simultaneously.

• The activity enrollment is added to the shopping cart. You may browse other options by clicking “Continue Shopping” or finalize the transaction by clicking “Proceed To Checkout.”

• Fill in payment information as necessary. • Upon successful payment processing, you’ll be directed to a page where you can: 1. Fill out a quick survey about your experience. 2. View receipt as a PDF. 3. Email a copy of your receipt to any address.

Disability Accommodations (Inclusion Services) All disability accommodation requests for a Virtual STEAM program should be noted on PARKS DIRECT accounts. Register a minimum of two weeks in advance of the start of the program to request and receive an accommodation. A representative from the Inclusion Services Team will then contact you to discuss accommodations. To ensure this, participants and parents/guardians are expected to immediately report any personal offenses of threatening situations to staff. Parent/Guardian: Program instructors cannot speak directly with individual children during the virtual activity. Adult supervision during the duration of the virtual activity is the parent/guardian’s responsibility. • Family involvement is encouraged but not required. • Links to virtual STEAM activities are for registered participants only and those links cannot be shared.

• Be respectful of all participants and program staff. • Appropriate clothing is required. • Upon entry into the activity, your video must be turned on so program staff can see you.

• Do not share your screen (show videos) during the activity unless requested by program staff.

• Be aware of what is showing in the background of your camera.

• Mute your microphone while the program staff are leading an activity. Unmute when you have a question ready to ask staff.

• This is a safe space. If you need help, program staff are here to assist you.

• Come prepared to participate, to interact, and to have fun! All participants must follow our Code of Conduct: I will: • Show respect to staff, and cooperate fully with their instructions.

• Respect the rights and beliefs of others, and treat others with courtesy and consideration.

• Communicate in an appropriate manner, which means I must not use foul language or gestures, harsh words or tone of voice.

• Conduct myself responsibly. I understand that horseplay, unwelcome teasing or other unkind behaviors are not allowed. Bullying will not be tolerated.

This November celebrate science, technology, engineering, arts, and math with ALL VIRTUAL STEAMFest activities! Art and Fossils in Early America Paleontology Discover the historical competition between President Thomas Jefferson and the French Count Buffon who claimed that their continent had bigger and better prehistoric creatures. Diaper Cake Centerpiece A diaper cake is a cake-shaped structure that’s built out of diapers and covered in decorations like flowers or stuffed animals. It usually has two or three tiers of rolled diapers that are wrapped in ribbon to resemble icing on a cake. Diaper cakes have become a popular baby shower trend. Although they look complicated, diaper cakes are a lot easier to create than you might think. In this two-class workshop, we will provide you with the step-by-step instructions on how to create the most perfect diaper cake centerpiece.
