Early Diagnosis Campaign: Sometimes It’s PH Timeline 2006 Delay in Recognition of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension: Factors Identified from the REVEAL Registry (Brown LM, Chen H, Halpern S, et al.) is published.

Early Diagnosis Campaign launches.

REVEAL Registry™: Registry to Evaluate Early and Long-term PAH Disease Management Study begins.

2011 Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Recommendations for Improving Patient Outcomes (White Paper) is published.

2012 Early Diagnosis infographic is created.

2013 Contemporary trends in the diagnosis and management of pulmonary arterial hypertension: an initiative to close the care gap (McLaughlin V, Langer A, Tan M, et al.) is published in Chest.

2014 The campaign adds two new subcommittees focused on Early Diagnosis for the CTEPH Patient and Early Diagnosis Disadvantaged Populations, respectively.

Campaign collaborates with WebMD to revise the site’s PHrelated content.

Early Diagnosis PSA is created by a community member through a Lantos Grant Award; now available for use in 43 countries!

Campaign hires first full-time manager.

Early Diagnosis infographic is developed in honor of Women’s Health Week; hits social media reaching 8,144 people.


The Early Diagnosis Campaign begins to collect data from newly diagnosed patients, facilitating evaluation. Early Diagnosis is the theme for PHA’s 2014 Legislative Lobbying Day and Congressional Luncheon.

2015 The campaign’s Educational Patient Checklist becomes available in print and web form.

International Task Force on Early Diagnosis is established; PHA’s Early Diagnosis Campaign Manager is asked to proctor. 1st Annual CTEPH Awareness Day. The Diagnostic Notepad, a resource developed by the campaign’s Medical Communications Committee, is patented. The Early Diagnosis Campaign establishes a strong following on Twitter.

The Clinical Pathway to Early, Accurate PH Diagnosis—a CEU course featuring clinical vignettes on the WHO groups—launches on Online University, quickly becoming the most popular course offering that month. The Patient Self-Advocacy Toolkit—a resource for any patient with undiagnosed symptoms.
