Presenting KENYAMUSICWEEK 2013 WELCOME:

T

en years ago, KENYA MUSIC WEEK was established to help develop the Kenya Music Industry into a professional, transparent and profitable business for all; via the focused co-operation of all industry Stakeholders (i.e. musicians, producers, promoters, distributors, consumers, government and non-government organisations).

Since then, nine Annual KENYA MUSIC WEEKs have seen over 455 entertainment Companies promoting their Goods & Services at the Trade Exhibition, over 600 industry Professionals attending free Educational Workshops and over 450 Artists performing on the Showcase Stage. So if you’re one of the 93,000 Visitors who have attended the last nine Annual KENYA MUSIC WEEKs, welcome back! And if you’re a newcomer, well... this is what you’ve been missing!!

CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF KENYAN MUSIC:

A

s Kenya celebrates 50 Years of Independence, the 10th Annual KENYA MUSIC WEEK is Celebrating 50 Years of Kenyan Music by Counting Down each Decade, as: 1960s (Thursday), 1970s (Friday), 1980s (Saturday) and 1990s & 2000s (Sunday); in our Educational Workshops, by Ketebul Music and the Creative Enterprise Centre. We shall also be reminiscing with 25 Deejays on the Showcase Stage, courtesy of the Association of Disc Jockeys - East Africa. Don’t miss our Kenyan Music @50 Photo Exhibition, celebrating the Evolution of the Industry since Independence; in partnership with Ketebul Music. And, for aspiring Musicians, we are offering a Free Recording Session in our see-through Studio - come sing your Tribute to Kenya@50, recorded by a top Producer, courtesy of the Kenya Association of Music Producers (KAMP).

FOR SHOP-A-HOLICS:

E

very year, KENYA MUSIC WEEK is timed to coincide with Christmas shopping. And there are no better Christmas gifts for that someone special (or yourself!) than ORIGINAL proudly Kenyan Music & Merchandise. So if you’ve been looking everywhere for that new Album all year, you’ll be sure to find it here and maybe even get it Autographed!

And there’s plenty to choose from with Kenya’s top Record Labels and Music Distributors offering local and international music for every taste. Plus, some of Kenya’s top Fashion Houses can have you dressed to rock that New Year’s Eve party in the gear your favourite Celebs wear!
