BIGMAN SAM Pb: What’s your official name? BU: SAMUEL T. NGATHO

Pb: How would you describe your style of Music? BU: It’s a blend of Trap, RnB Cranked Worship & Hip-Hop. Pb: Where did you get your stage name from? BU: It came from a combination of three things - Big Faith, Big Stature & Basketball position. Pb: Who is your inspiration? BU: My Father owing that my Mum left when I was 9years olds & a firstborn of 6 Children, yet he stuck with us protecting and providing for us making a vow not to remarry till we are all of age. He paid my first studio session and video with “Doh Ya Kukopa” that’s how much he believes in his children. Pb: What projects you are currently working on? Which project is going to release first in the coming days? BU: Currently am working on a new Album to and some fresh singles especially a remix to my favourite Hit “WASSUP” . I am also, putting together the 4th edition of Family Fest at Arboretum on the 22nd of April 2018. Pb: What things have you learned about life and the human condition from being in the public eye as an artist? BU: The best asset anyone should invest in is People resource, having family and friends who don’t see you as the “celeb” to always hold you down in your crazy and tough times is just priceless. It’s so easy to confuse fame with love and trust me when you lose your voice it all dwindles down because all that was tied to your abilities and talent. Pb: Tell us more about Family Fest. BU: Family fest is an event that is structured to appreciate our friends and family. Its main aim is to bridge the generational gap using Music, Art, Comedy, Games and Food. Picture a Haven where you come with your Buddies/ Gang/Squad and or Family over Good live music laced with sack races, tag of war, hula-hoop competitions plus many more games, live graffiti and barbecue including African dish.

DJ [MONRHEA] monrhea monrheacarter monrhea_carter MY REAL NAME IS: Maureen Wanjiru. I GOT MY STAGE NAME FROM: High School. I came up with the name during a school trip, It means One Queen. I STUDIED AT: Daystar University. I did a course in Management of Information System. I USUALLY PLAY: Techno, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Deep & Afro House, Ambient & Alternative Music manly because I associate myself with the Underground Electronic music scene. I GOT INTO DEEJAYING: professionally after I realized Music is the answer to Life. It helps heal our souls. It healed mine. I LEARNT DEEJAYING: by teaching myself. Started put with Virtual DJ, then used controllers and now CDJs . IT’S BEEN: One year now since I started Deejaying. MY MAJOR CHALLENGE WHEN STARTING OUT: was getting opportunities to play .What I love as most of the audiences in Nairobi dwells on Mainstream Music while as a DJ, I’d like to bring something different to the table hence why I support the Underground music scene. It’s more open minded and experimental. MY MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS: is Playing for TEMPLE NAIROBI!! You don’t know how much that meant to me. Also getting a Thursday residency at Igiza Lounge and playing for The Africa Nouveau Festivals’ Silent Disco IF I WASN’T A DEEJAY I’D BE: doing something IT related as that’s what I studied in School.
