SWIGA Pb: Introduce yourself S: I am a live performing artist , a singer and songwriter, a lawyer by profession and an artist by passion. Pb: How would you describe your genre of music? S: I do not fall into a specific box of genre, my music can be described as Afro fusion between Pop, Sultry Jazz, a bit of Reggae. I write to anything I vibe to. Pb: What are your most memorable performances? S: I performed at J’s on a Saturday night in 2018 and I remember the energy from that day and I still get so psyched about it. I have had memorable performances also at Alchemist, Nyama Mama, Purdy Arms for Joss Stone Live Tour and Jamhuri Jam Sessions. Pb: What have been your biggest challenges so far? S: My biggest challenge so far is that music can be an expensive hobby or a hefty investment that needs capital and needs team work and structure. The business bit of it can be a bit tricky. Pb: What motivates you?

But, let me just let you know I am working on my own live show, the first Edition, and it will be the most exciting thing yet. Performing live is my forte Pb: Who are some of the people you want to collaborate with? S: Locally; Mbithi, Vallerie Muthoni, Chris Kaiga, Kidum, Nyashinski just to name a few. Pb: What are the main topics in your songs? S: Love, heartbreak, having fun, any emotion I feel that can be embodied in a song I write it Pb: Apart from Music what do you do? S: I am counsel, I like adventures, I like to plant and stare at trees

Seghito who is the lead singer was the winner of the Jahazi Jazz artist award in 2012. What differentiates Seghito’s music style is her strong vocals shaped by live performing and vocal training and her energy on that stage, she fuses jazz, traditional and afro blues and reggae to a new level . Set to release her album mid next year she plans on touring and meeting more local and international artists, and performing East African festivals.
