H_ART THE BAND PB: Congratulations on the Launch of your Debut Album. HtB: Shoekran Sana. It’s been a longtime coming, we are so happy and overwhelmed by the response we have gotten so far. For almost 5 Years we have looked forward to having an album and here it is: Made In The Streets.

PB: Where can we get the Album? HtB: Made In The Streets is live on all digital platforms but for those who would like to download onto their phone’s playlist visit www.mookh.com. You can also listen to our music on our website www.harttheband.com

PB: How would you describe album? HtB: Imagine a playlist that gives you a flight to your imagination. From the conceptualization to the writing, the production, the mixing and mastering, the 13 songs in this album without doubt cater for every mood you’re in. The profound artists featured added their own classic touch of magic resulting to this urban classic H_art the Band Masterpiece. If you still haven’t purchased the Album, you’re missing out on an absolutely crazy wave - Join the wave.

PB: Anything Else You’d Like to Add or Say To Your Fans? HtB: Last words would be that you should never give up on your dreams without a fight. It really does pay off to keep a steady flow of resilience. Made In The Streets is a living breathing testimony.

PB: Of all the Songs why did you choose these Songs? HtB: With a broad fan base of young, middle age and old people, we had to be very cautious of the choice of songs for the album so as not to lose any of our audience. Over a period of 3years, we wrote over 60 songs and cut them down to 13songs that sound wise best describes our journey and caters for that vast fan base. Big Up to the producers who made this possible : Cedo, Gituamba, Ulopa _& Eric Musyoka. PB: Your first stop of the Tour was Kayole, why is that? HtB: 5 years ago, when we decided to embark on this musical journey, we rented out a single room in Kayoleleshwa courtesy of a guardian angel. This marked the start of our journey as Musicians. 5years later as we start off this new journey, we thought it best to let history rewrite its steps and that we pay homage to our die-hard supporter who have been with us since the beginning. PB: Where would you be performing during your tour? HtB: We are doing a 3 day stop in different towns round the country. First day will be a University Activation. Second day, the Main event at a venue of choice and the Last day a CSR of choice for that community. Our next stop will be Nakuru the 13th of September 2019. Visit our website: www.harttheband.com for more details.

P8.What’s (each of you) your favourite song and Why? SKOKO - The First Song on the Album is a personal favourite, ‘Mystical’ It feels like a soundtrack to Life _& Love. Talking about how one person can fall out of Love with one person _& in Love with the next whilst still being able to give each as much Love as he/she possibly can. Love is simply Mystical. MORDECAI : My favourite song keeps changing every other time. But currently I’m really jamming to Track Number 12 ‘Golden Chances’ Featuring Randy Valentine. The reason is, the whole process of creating it was such a great experience. It’s one of those songs that you’d call a “Powerful Song”. The lyricism is equally honest and provocative. Shout out to Gituamba for killing the track. KENCHEZ - My favorite also keep changing right now na vibe na ‘Ukimuoa’,track number 7. This is because , seven is my Godly number and also it happens to be the name of my Dog...the song itself gives me this classic nostalgia feeling ,its like this new urban Rhumba thats speaks about themistakes we do when we’re in relationships and we never get to talk about, sisi tume wazungumzia. Big Thank You to our Sponsors & Partners:Boomplay,Coca-cola, EnM Group, MyMoviesAfrica, Parrot Group, PHAT!buzz, PHAT! Productions, Royal Media, Safaricom & our Loyal Fans!!!

Burna Boy was born Damini Ogulu in Lagos in 1991. He began making music when he was just ten years old. A fellow classmate gave him a copy of the production software FruityLoops. Armed with these means, he began to create his own beats on an old computer. After he graduated, he moved to London to attend university, but dropped out after two years and moved back to Nigeria. In 2010, the 19-year-old, Ogulu traveled to Nigeria’s Southern Coast where a mutual acquaintance, producer LeriQ, had some studio space. This marked a period when he began to connect to the music of his native country, having spent most of his youth immersed in American acts like DMX. He delved into the dancehall and reggae music his father listened to, and the Afrobeat music that his grandfather preferred (he’d also been Fela Kuti’s first manager). As a result of his new discoveries, Ogulu created a confluence of genres that would become his signature sound.Alongside LeriQ, they created “Like to Party” which marked his rise to prominence, and created a local buzz along the way.

BURNA

BOY

With his fusion of dancehall, reggae, Afrobeat, and pop, Burna Boy emerged in the early part of the 2010s as one of Nigeria’s fastest rising stars. The LeriQ-produced 2012 single, ‘Like to Party’, proved to be his breakout track and paved the way for his fulllength debut, L.I.F.E., a year later. Over the next five years, Burna Boy released two more albums and collaborated with a variety of artists including from J Jus and Skales to Fall Out Boy and Lilly Allen.

2013 saw the release of his debut studio album: L.I.F.E., which featured guest slots from Wizkid, Timaya, 2Face, and M.I. which drew favorable reviews from the music press. For his sophomore effort, 2015’s On a Spaceship, he parted ways with both his record company and LeriQ, and delivered a record even more diverse than his first. In 2017, he teamed up with producer Juls for the single ‘Rock Your Body’ A host of singles followed throughout the year, including ‘GBA’ , ‘Streets of Africa’, ‘Koni Baje’ and ‘Sekkle Down’ featuring J Hus. Dropping the Lily Allen-aided single “Heaven’s Gate” in early January 2018, Ogulu delivered his third Album, Outside, later that month. He returned a year later with the single “Killin Dem,” a collaboration with Zlatan. Along with additional singles like “Dangote” and “On the Low,” it was later included on his fourth album, African Giant, which saw release in July 2019.
