1 Negative thinking patterns
People with depression often get stuck in unhelpful thinking patterns; for example, always expecting the worst or calling themselves unkind an self-bullying words. Over time, this will influence how they see and interact with the world. If you think of yourself as ‘boring’ and ‘uninteresting’, then you are less likely to speak to others and put yourself in situations where you could make friends. You may even dwell on past conversations with friends, looking for evidence to prove you are ‘boring’.
You aren’t alone in experiencing negative thoughts. They are really common and can have a negative effect on our confidence, mood and motivation.
