Bioshock Infinite Set in an epic future/ history of 1912 America, you play former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt on a mission to the floating ‘death star’ city of Columbia to rescue Elizabeth, imprisoned since childhood by a mysterious enemy. DeWitt is able to harness some of her extraordinary, world-altering powers as their bond develops – which helps you battle through Columbia’s rollercoaster cargocarrying skylines at deathdefying speeds, with a range of amazing weapons. Compelling in narrative as it is gameplay, you must take on foes including the fearsome Skybird, who’ll stop at nothing to return Elizabeth to her capturer.

Dead Space 3 The famous third-person horror shooter is back. Set between a frozen planet and insane opening section that sees returning hero Isaac Clarke being blown out of a space ship and gasping his way through space to reach the helmet of his RIG (Resource Integration Gear) suit (which uses holographic displays to show the players health and ammo count), before swirling through an ancient space flotilla. The chilling soundscape returns, as do the fearsome necromorphs, now in mutated, mummified human and dog form, all endeavouring to claw the living shit out of you with a seamless co-op play adding to the thrills.

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch An incredible debut game from Studio Ghibli, the makers of Spirited Away, this adventure RPG is as epic in its animation as it is in storyline. Starting in Motorville you play a young Oliver, drawn into a parallel world to become a magician, destined to take on the terrifying White Witch. Awesome cut scenes and ranging difficulty settings allow you to simply focus on this heart-warming story, while the controls are equally easy to get to grips with. With music from Joe Hisaishi adding to the score, this welcomes all fans of Studio Ghibli to yet another, magical world.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Metal Gear meets all-out sword play, as you play Raiden, the ally of Solid Snake in a gun-less action caper that lets you slice and dice your cyborg foes into ninja chunks. You can also use bullet time ‘Blade Mode’ to rip out spinal cords in a ‘cut and take’ move called ‘zan-datsu’. Stealth features return though visor reconnaissance, allowing you to ambush enemies, before battling mega robots and walking gun turrets which you can hurl to destruction with an electro whip or secondary weapons. Plus there’s friend called Blade Wolf with a howling chainsaw for a tail. Standard.
