Scientists are our BFFs. Really. But are we going to wait for some study to point out something we already know from our own experience? What are the limitations of the scientific method when it comes to living our daily lives? How can the practices of science help us be better body wisdom noticers? When do we need to pay attention to the published data and when do we need to claim our own authority? We know a lot but we only claim a tiny sliver of it because we are cowed by smarty-pants authority. Come find out how to stand tall in the small but mighty realm of your own experience! And eat a cupcake! LIVE FULLY AND WISELY!
The Human Sustainability Crisis Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 • 7 pm Phil Porter We are overwhelmed, over-committed and are losing sight of the joy of living. We are inundated by information and starved for skin-to-skin reassurance. We are part of our planet yet think we are above it. How can we best live our busy lives so that we can keep going and not burn out or get sick? And how does the wider culture run roughshod over the wisdom of the body in search of fame and fortune? Complex life can be lived fully and with grace if we pay attention to the full range of our experience and knowing.

You may find out that you or someone you care about is a “kinesthetic learner.” Sitting like a lump will not get us where we need to go. And why are we so afraid of moving in certain ways? What happens if we move beyond social/physical awkwardness? Come find out more about how you can move yourself into new life! And eat a cupcake!
