Gustav Klimt se convirtió en uno de los máximos exponentes del modernismo o “Art Nouveau”, denominaciones que hacen referencia a la intención de crear un arte nuevo, llevando a cabo la ruptura con los estilos dominantes de la época, tales como el historicismo o el eclectismo. Gustav Klimt compartió el gusto por crear una estética nueva, en la que predominaban la inspiración en la naturaleza a la vez que se incorporaban novedades derivadas de la revolución industrial. Klimt revolucionó los conceptos estéticos recurriendo a recursos gráficos tales el uso de las formas redondeadas de tipo orgánico, entrelazándose con el motivo central.
una revuelta conceptual de los valores estéticos de la época En Klimt se aprecia también una fuerte tendencia al uso de imágenes femeninas, las cuales se muestran en actitudes delicadas y gráciles, con un aprovechamiento generoso de las ondas en los cabellos y los pliegues en las vestimentas. Se aprecia asimismo, una actitud tendente a la sensualidad y a la complacencia de los sentidos, con un guiño a lo erótico en algunos casos.

A conceptual revolt against the aesthetical values at that time Gustav Klimt became one of the most prominent members of the Modernism or Art Nouveau movement - both names denote the will to create new art – and led to a break with the then prevailing styles such as historicism or eclecticism. Gustav Klimt shared the taste for creating a new aesthetics where inspiration in nature prevailed and which at the same time incorporated new features that sprung from the industrial revolution. Klimt revolutionised the aesthetical concepts by using graphical resources like organic lines and contours interweaving with the central motif. In his work, Klimt also had a strong tendency to use the female body, showing it in delicate and graceful attitudes, taking best advantage of hair waves and garment pleats. Another remarkable trait is Klimt’s inclination to sensuality and the satisfaction of the senses, occasionally drifting towards eroticism.

integrar la belleza del arte a la funcionalidad del mobiliario tapiz donde las formas, y la utilización del color se convierten en las claves para desarrollar la más amplia gama de estampados, esquemas geométricos lineales, detalles basados en la naturaleza, piezas casi de “orfebrería” gráfica que dan pie a toda una sucesión de entramados fantásticos y repletos de posibilidades. Intentando aprovechar la genialidad del autor, se ha procedido a un desglose de los inagotables recursos de su pintura, profundizando en su contenido y analizando las formas, líneas y colores más comunes en su obra.

Gustav Klimt thus provides the inspiration for discovering that every small organic shape conceals a whole world of still undeveloped possibilities. We should examine them if we are to transform the smallest room into a singular tapestry in which shapes and colours are key items to generating the widest range of prints, geometrical linear patterns and nature-based motifs – all, kind of graphic ‘jewels’ that give cause for a host of fantastic compositions rich in options. Trying to benefit from the artist’s genius, we have inventoried the inexhaustible resources of his painting, scrutinising their contents and analysing the recurring shapes, lines and colours in his work.
De esta manera y después de un proceso de síntesis, se ha llegado a la conclusión de aprovechar este extenso mundo de posibilidades y apostar por una reinterpretación de sus creaciones, eligiendo pequeños fragmentos de sus múltiples obras y creando esquemas, más o menos complejos con los que después de aplicar el color o colores apropiados, poder definir una serie de diseños, aplicables a la marca.
LO ORGANICO En sus obras encontramos un gran repertorio de elementos gráficos inspirados en la naturaleza, dando lugar a un concierto de formas orgánicas, que tan bien representaron la visión de este autor. In Klimt’s works, we can find a large collection of graphic elements inspired in nature, which produce a symphony of organic shapes that wonderfully represented this artist’s vision.
Klimt nos abre un mundo de posibilidades, integrando sus conocimientos aprendidos (texturas, materiales, oro, relieves, etc.),en una nueva corriente que apuesta por la perfecta fusión de colores y formas. Este potencial creativo ofrece un infinito abanico de posibilidades de fusión entre arte y mobiliario, obteniendo resultados de carácter sorprendente.
Hence, following a synthesis process, we concluded that we ought to profit by this wealth of possibilities and to go for reinterpreting Klimt’s creations. For this purpose, we selected

After applying the appropriate colour or colours, we used these sketches to define a series of designs fit for our brand. Klimt opens up a whole world of possibilities for us, if we integrate his learnt knowledge (textures, materials, gold, reliefs, etc.) into a new trend that opts for perfect blending of colours and shapes. This creative potential offers countless opportunities to merge art and furniture, with surprising results.
