LRT Line1 extension more than halfway progress in construction

The LRT Line 1 connecting Baclaran to Bacoor, Cavite has reached a 57% overall construction

progress rate with the Right of Way (ROW) acquisition. Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade said that once this project is

completed, passengers from Bacoor, Cavite will reach Baclaran for only 25 minutes, reducing travel time from the previous one (1) and 10 minutes.

This National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) Board-approved project is expected to increase passenger capacity from

500,000 to 800,000 daily. It will generate more jobs as 1,600 jobs were already created during its construction phase.
