GREENPOINT STADIUM During the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ event, the Cape Town

Stadium was known as Green Point Stadium. However, it was renamed after the event. It was constructed on the site of the original Green Point Stadium. For the purpose of this

international event and it seated an impressive 68 000

spectators. Shortly afterwards, the capacity was reduced to 55 000.Green Point Stadium was constructed over 33 months. Its

design implies a flow, a constant movement and evolution. It is wrapped in an outer layer of woven fibre glass, which has been coated with Teflon. Night lights cause this entire structure to

glow, lighting up the skyline and the City Bowl of Cape Town.

The open roof was designed to allow air and light inside, while thick glass panels prevent strong rains and winds from

hindering games, matches or performances. Its design is also environmentally sustainable and advanced in terms of the

technology and design. The Cape Town Stadium is situated in Green Point, at the foot of Signal Hill.It is flanked by Table

Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean, giving it a rather dramatic setting. Today, it is used for a number of sporting and

entertainment events. It is equipped with modern corporate

hospitality suites, conferencing ,banqueting facilities as well as medical facilities. There are 900 toilets and 360 urinals, 16 lifts and 115 entry turnstiles. The Cape Town Stadium was designed and constructed using a number of green methods and initiatives.

Seapoint Magic

Sea Point is a suburb of Cape Town which is situated on a narrow stretch of land between Cape Town's well-known Lion's Head to the south-east and the Atlantic Ocean to the north-west. It is a high-density area where houses are built in close proximity to one another towards the surrounding mountainside. Apartment buildings are more common in the central area and toward the beach front. An important communal space is the beach-front promenade, a paved walkway along the beachfront used for walking, jogging or socialising. Along the littoral of the Sea Point promenade, the coastline has varied characteristics. Some parts are rocky and difficult to access, while other parts have broad sandy beaches. Sea Point beach adjoins an Olympic-sized seawater swimming pool, which had served generations of Capetonians since the early fifties. Further towards the city is a beach known as Rocklands. The Sea Point Pavilion Swimming Pool adjoining Sea Point is called Three Anchor Bay. The beaches along this stretch are in the main covered with mussel shells thrown up by the ocean, unlike the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, which are sandy.

BLOUBERG STRAND

Bloubergstrand originated as a fishing village and holiday resort for farmers living inland. In the early years of the twentieth century,Bloubergstrand had no dedicated church building or formal ties with established congregations. In the early 1920's, as Mall Hall was built on the property of Jan van der Spuy. Bloubergstrand is a west coast holiday destination situated about 20 minutes from the centre of Cape Town.Close to the My Citi bus routes you can travel into the city from early morning till late at night without having to get into the traffic jams that block the road traffic inand out of the area.

Seagulls are very clever. ... Seagulls' intelligence is clearly demonstrated by a range of different feeding behaviours, such as dropping hardshelled molluscs onto rocks so that they break open so they can eat them, and following ploughs in fields where they know upturned grubs and other food sources will be plentiful.Gulls generally have a lifespan of around twenty years. Gulls are social creatures and once roof nesting gets a hold, other gulls will start to move into an area and nest on adjacent buildings, until their numbers build up sufficiently that a colony is established.
