Say hello to FEBRUARY key clubbers

To start off this month, I would like to say how PROUD I am of how much we have accomplished this past month. We were able to raise almost 100 DOLLAS from our Crumbl Cookie fundraiser for Erika’s Lighthouse and we were able to serve over 250 HOURS!!! So, remember to continue serving and supporting our fundys.

Though I am quite sad that the term is coming to an end soon, I honestly cannot wait to see what the new term will be like. I know the new president (RIP Pres Thea ) will be great and I hope that our lovely members will apply for a position on the board. TAKE THE INITIATIVE.

Wishing Happy Birthday to Japanese Elders!

Elderly Birthday Cards with Ualani Nguyen

On January 14th, we had a service event collaboration with Red Cross, where we met up at the Berryessa Library to make birthday cards for Japanese elders. The whole event lasted for two hours, and the thing is, during those two whole hours, I was only able to finish ONE birthday card. Uno—only one! T-T

A Three Kings Day Celebration at the Children's Discovery Museum? What an event! Upon arriving at the museum, I was given the task of stuffing goodie bags with bubble wands, cake, and random goodies with Jackie for my first shift. Seeing how much we accomplished in 3 hours was quite rewarding. To be honest, it was a real spinebreaker. For the most part, we were isolated from human interaction with the exception of the performers in the room getting ready. Not to mention the fact that the room was almost soundproof, preventing us from listening to the performances :( Luckily, we had a nice little break before our second shift! As we led the two new volunteers for the second shift in, Jackie and I had a bit of a hassle regaining entry. This time, I decided to take on a different task: helping kids decorate paper crowns to wear and take home. This time, I got to listen to and watch the performances, including an instrumental and vocal cover of Un Poco Loco from the movie Coco. Luanne and I provided them templates, metallic markers, and jewel stickers. This was her very first Key Club event, and knowing that I helped create such a memorable time meant a lot to me. If I ever get a chance to volunteer at the Children's Discovery Museum or alongside a new Key Clubber again, you can bet that I won't pass up that opportunity ;)

WE LOVE OUR LTG !

D12 + D43 Convlave + DCM with Lori Lew

After a wonderful term with Jackie Wang serving as our 2022- 2023 Lieutenant Governor, it was time for our next LTG to be elected. Having Jackie as our LTG this term was honestly so amazing. She has been a very hard-working person and I know she has a bright future ahead of her! On the day of the conclave, I arrived at Stratford Preparatory School barely on time and I noticed how big the school was. After my brother and I located the room of the event, we sat with other officers we knew. Everyone at the conclave dressed business casual and business formal. It was my first time attending an in-person conclave, so I was happy to finally experience attending one! The event started out with our DCM. Lucky for D12E, we stayed in the main room with the LTG, division leadership team, and Presidents giving updates. After the updates were over, the speeches of the candidates officially started. Our two candidates were Esha and Bree, who were both on the DLT. It takes courage for anyone to stand on stage and say their speech. Both candidates showed great courage and they did a great job! Toward the end of the event, all candidates from D12 and D43 stood on the stage waiting for the LTGs to announce the next LTGs for the 2023-2024 term. Esha became the next LTG for D12E! I was very proud of her and I know she'll do great things! :))

ITS GRAMS WEEK! Key club is selling the cutest grams this year– check out instagram!! I don’t know about you, but I’d definitely buy them . Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this newsletter as much as I enjoyed making it… This one was a blast to make (since all I used was PINK). This term is coming to a close, so make sure to apply for the next one and keep raking in those HOURS.

HEARTS. HEARTS. HEARTS. MORE HEARTS. This newsletter is filled with hearts literally everywhere and so, so, SO MUCH PINK. You guys better love this newsletter because I’ve lost my mind making it. If I see ONE MORE HEART I’M GOINsorry…. But seriously, what’s with Valentine’s Day anyway? I mean, at best, you get chocolate from one person. Compare that to Halloween, where you get chocolate from everyone! There’s no contest! Well… to be honest… there is ONE thing that makes Valentine’s Day better than other holidays: our Valentine’s Grams :D!!! Go buy them or Imma shoot an arrow at you :D

Can you believe it? The first month of January just whooshed past us. That leaves around four more months left of school! :00 I hope you all had a wonderful lunar new year celebration with your family and friends and definitely enjoyed the international faire! This term is sadly already coming to an end, with the most talented executive officers sadly leaving our board, but that also leaves space for future key clubbers to join us! Spring applications for execs will open later this month :00 and for board members it’ll be in March! Wohoo! By the way, make sure to get some lovely key club vday grams for your other half <333 Hope you guys have a cool and lovely valentines season :)
