HEY BABY BEES!!

I hope that finals and AP exams went well for everyone reading this. Please make sure to prioritize your mental health and get a good night’s rest from now on~ No matter how bumpy the road gets, I'm certain that we'll all find a way to grind and come through!

Wow wow wow. Can you believe that the new term has started already? New term, new board, and new goals! It seems as if FRN was just yesterday… so sad to see the seniors go ;( Anyway, congratulations to our new officers! Interviewing you all was lots of fun hehe… but I’d rather not stay after school till 6:30 again. I know that you all have lots to bring to our team and I can’t wait to work with you~ ╰(´︶`)╯♡ So far, you’ve all shown lots of service and spirit, despite the school year ending. Imagine my delight when I saw that service event sign-ups weren’t showing any signs of dying down. It’s been wonderful volunteering alongside you all for the past couple of years and I can’t wait to continue!

As your new VP of Admin, I get the joy of entering your service hours heehee~ I have so many things to look forward to – I don’t think there’s enough room for me to talk about them all D: The new hours spreadsheet and activities spreadsheet are looking better than ever and so is the Division Leadership Team experience… But let’s not look too far ahead! The LTG banquet is coming up pretty soon so I better see some familiar faces!

Smiling with Service,

Quynh Dao

It was a Saturday morning, the morning of an event that I had been the OIC for, and the event that nobody ended up signing up for. Regardless, I still had hopes that I would be able to meet new people and possibly even make new acquaintances. Once arriving at the event, I was pleasantly surprised as the Cross Country Coach's sister, Valerie, ended up being there. I ended up partnering up with her and we ventured down near the edge of the Guadalupe River and began picking up trash. As we picked up trash we talked about life and she gave me a lot of useful information about college and life in general which made the experience a lot more enjoyable. Oh, also, as a side note, I didn't end up realizing till the morning after the event, but the entire time it appeared that my neck had been looking really scrumptious and I ended up with five bug bites all on my neck. Back to the story, as Valerie and I finished picking up trash around the area that we ventured down to, I noticed a really big cooler that everyone had seemingly avoided as we were told to not grab large items as it would've been difficult to carry it back up. However, me being the complete idiot I am, decided I was going to bring that cooler up. Worst idea ever. I managed to bring it up at the cost of dirt getting all over my clothes as Valerie laughed at me while I sat down, defeated and full of regret. Then she told me "Hey, at least this would make for a really good story for your college apps or something," and I thought you know what, this probably would make for a pretty good story, feeling a little less bitter about my life choices but still just as embarrassed at the fact that I was covered in dirt.

I Rickrolled an Innocent Child

May DCM with Quynh Dao!

This was a DCM I just HAD to attend. I just had to meet the new DLT members in person. And guess what? I'm not the shortest in the DLT haha! Turns out I'm taller than Sokunthea and Diana by at least a head. We did a service activity under some shade: birthday cards for hospitalized children. We were left with plenty of room for artistic creativity. Most of us drew bees and wrote bee puns. Andrew's bee looked like a cow. Annie drew a really fuzzy one. I made 2 cards. On my first card, I drew a slice of cake and a nice little note. On the second card, I drew some bee balloons and lyrics to Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley. While Ualani criticized my choice of words, I was quite proud of myself. Personally, I would love to be rick rolled on my birthday.

S-no Cones, More Like S-yes Cones!

Clubchella with Serena Wei

It was a warm Thursday afternoon, it was finally the day. The day of the long-awaited Clubchella!! I had just left my class early to go help setup for the event and I spotted our beautiful plain white table with nothing on it. I walked over and the snow cone machine appeared! I stared at the cooler, wondering what mysteries it carried (ice and boba popsicles), and waited for the people to start swarming. In the beginning, it was pretty boring and we couldn’t catch the attention of the people. However, after time, we got a couple customers, and then even more! This was my first Clubchella ever and it was not what I expected. Though I thought there was going to be way more people, the event was still very fun. The experience was amazing and I got to chat with a lot of people. After a long one and a half hours, cold fingers, and sticky, blue and red hands, I can say that I survived Clubchella!

MEDIA DIRECTOR NOTES ANNIE ANDREW

HEY KEYBEES!! Guess who’s back?? NOT Chaochi. However, Andrew and I are! I’m so thrilled to be back and start making more newsletters <33 This newsletter featured so many special things, such as new officers and WINNING DISTINGUISHED CLUB NEWSLETTER?? That’s right–out of the 3 states, 79 divisions, and 500+ home clubs, we won *best* newsletter at DCON! I’m so proud that all that work we put in last term resulted in something so big. As summer rolls in and new freshmen join our school, we hope to recruit some more members for our club to grow and flourish… Keep working over the summer busy bees!

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since our last newsletter, huh? I’m so excited to start this new term alongside Annie and Stephanie. Last term was absolutely amazing and I loved working with co-mds Chao-Chi and Annie. While Chao-Chi has left us for a higher position, I’m sure Stephanie will fill in nicely. I have no doubts that our new Media Director squad has the potential to match, and even exceed, last year’s performance- so keep a lookout for future newsletters to come! Lastly- go look at the website :D

Surprise!! This was the very first newsletter that I’ve been a part of, and it actually went more smoothly than I expected. Annie and Andrew are so helpful and patient, especially because I’m still full of questions. I am so excited to work on more newsletters with them, I’m sure it’ll be more andmore fun. I’ll work hard to get used to this process and graduate from being a rookie sooner or later!! <3
