Rec Adventure & Skill:

grades 4–6 r$525 N$555

Julia Shotz’s love of recreation runs deep—her first word (“WOW!”) was actually said around the campfire. Julia studied Recreation at Humboldt State University, with an emphasis in Outdoor Adventure Leadership, and has backpacked and camped at Mount Shasta, Van Damme State Park, The Trinity Alps, The Marble Mountains, Fern Canyon, and Big and Little Basin, to name a few.

Campers will learn intermediate skills in recreation, backcountry and backpacking, orienteering, and native plant and animal identification. Thursday’s camp will be held at Joaquin Miller Park. Parents will drop off children at the picnic area and then return for dinner and s’mores around the campfire at 6pm.

Some wilderness and/or camping experience preferred. Julia cannot wait to share her love and knowledge of recreation with you children this summer and looks forward to their adventures (and new skills)! *Thur, June 29 hours: 9:00am–8:00pm at Joaquin Miller Park
