WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF BBI
Dear Prospective Student, Thank you for requesting information about BBI, Higher Education Institutes. The objective of our professional undergraduate and graduate programs is to educate young people in the essential disciplines of the hospitality and tourism industry for their future careers as managers and heads of departments in hotels and other related enterprises. The teaching programs as well as the structure, objectives, strategies and pedagogy are the same in both institutes. The same occurs for the teaching staff which is split between the two entities to share experiences and skills gained during 21 years of BBI’s existence. Subsequently, our programs rigorously balance hands-on training with the supervisory and business knowledge students need to become effective decision-makers within a complex hospitality organisation. Once you have graduated from BBI, either “Brussels” or “Wiltz”, you will be equipped to take on meaningful responsibilities early on in your career, and be a productive team member, as from your first day in the job. The information contained in this folder is a complement of our brochure which can be downloaded from our web site. It should familiarise you with BBI’s programs, admission requirements, school fee, and some other additional information. Prior to sending your registration document it’s imperative that you make the choice between BBI’s campuses where you wish to study, as your choice will determine the registration procedure. It is recommended for international candidates (Non European citizen) to apply for the campus of WILTZ in the Grand-Duchy of Luxemburg, as it provides student’s accommodation on campus. We look forward to hearing from you in the very near future and we hope to welcome you as a BBI student. Yours sincerely, James GENDARME – MA. CHE. Director of Education
We wish you every success in your educational venture ........ Join us for success!

GENERAL INFORMATION
CURRICULA and DURATION OF STUDIES
The contents of the two programs are described in the following charts (pages 6 & 7). Please note that each curriculum offered is continuously being developed and improved to suit changing needs. Consequently the institute may, from time to time, modify the content of the programs, the allocation of periods or the sequence in which they are taught. The Bachelor program is divided in two semesters (First semester: from September to December and Second semester: from January to May. Final examinations are held at the end of each semester. The Master program is ongoing during the academic year. Final examinations are held at theend of the year.
The professional program of Bachelor in International Hospitality & Tourism Management (Involves 3 x 60 = 180 CREDITS) First Year Second Year Third Year

The professional program of Master in International Hospitality & Tourism Management (Involves 2 x 60 = 120 CREDITS) Two Years
2980 hours of study including an advanced management internship of 12 months
ECTS – EUROPEAN TRANSFER CREDIT SYSTEM The number of hours per year is based on the ECTS criteria in the form of a numerical value allocated to each course unit (for a total of 60). They reflect the quantity of work each course unit requires in relation to the total quantity of work necessary to complete a full year of academic study at the institution, that is, lectures, practical work, seminars, tutorials, fieldwork (internships), private study – in the library or at home – and examinations or other assessment activities. The grading system is based on the adequacy of the institutional grading system and the ECTS promoted by the European Community (Bologna Process) as a means of improving academic recognition for cooperation between higher institutes and universities. ECTS is applicable to all public and private European higher institutes and universities. In itself, ECTS in no way regulates the content, structure or equivalence of study programs. These are issues of quality which have to be determined by the higher education institution itself when establishing a satisfactory basis for cooperation agreements, bilaterally or multilaterally.
INTERNSHIP The duration of the internships is as follow:
For the 3 years of the Bachelor program : 12 weeks/each year For the 2 years of the Master program : 12 months/second year
The internships are structured around a progress and supervision plan established by the institute, the details of which are to be found in the student’s internship notebook entitled “TRAINEE MANUAL”. This contains a program and progress-guide, allowing an objective evaluation of the work carried out by the student during his/her internship. On completion of the training, all trainees must provide their final report. The results of these reports are taken into consideration for the awarding of undergraduate and graduate degrees.
