Please join us on Sunday, April 18th at 5:30pm at the house for food and some quality parent-son bonding! It will be a great opportunity to hear about all the great events we are participating in Spring Quarter. We will be introducing our newly elected Executive Board as well as informing you on recent accomplishments and future events! Please RSVP by contacting our Parent Relations Chair, Ryan Shults at shultsr@u.washington.edu. Look forward to seeing you then!

Thanks again to all the parents who helped out and brought food for study treats during Finals Week as well as those parents who donated money towards the Pizza! The guys always appreciate it and it helps out with those late study nights. Also thanks to Ryan Tucker for all his hard work as Parent Relation’s Chair this past year with all the events and coordination.

Update from the President Parents of Pi Kappa Phi, My name is Bryce Bennett and I am the newly elected President for 2010. I want to thank you for taking the time to read our quarterly newsletter, updating you on our most recent events here at the Alpha Delta Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi. During the 2009-2010 school year, we have been top three in grades amongst fraternities each quarter, and have just recently begun a new scholarship tournament within the house. Outside of academics, we organized our first “War of the Roses” philanthropy this past fall, raising money for our national philanthropy, Push America. Over the next year we will be striving to improve our academics, brotherhood, and philanthropy involvement. We will also be focusing on improvements to our physical house. While pursuing our goals of improving our physical house, a few parents have been extremely helpful. First, Chris Shults has been kind enough to help us replace some of the damaged or broken windows around the house through his company, Emerald City Energy. Tom Boyd was also able to come in and help us repair a few of our steps on our main staircase.

In addition, Shawn O’Donnell Sr. has helped us streamline our kitchen processes, and provided advice for fixing kitchen appliances. Finally, Heather Tucker, the Head of the Parents Club, has done a phenomenal job reviving the connection between the chapter and our parents. I, and the rest of the Executive Board, realize that there are many constituents to serve as leaders of the fraternity. The parents of our members are one of the most important, and we hope to continue to improve our communication with you over the course of the next year. If you have any suggestions for events or other methods to improve this aspect of our organization, please let either our parent relations chair, Ryan Shults, or myself know. Once again, thank you for your time, and we hope to see you on the 18th of April for the Parents Barbeque. Sincerely, Bryce Bennett (206) 551-6910 bbennett71032@aol.com

Special Olympics Basketball As many of you know, our fraternity’s national philanthropy is PUSH America, which serves to raise money and awareness for those with disabilities. We are the only national fraternity which owns and operates its own philanthropic organization. One of the great events that we have participated in the past few years is refereeing for the Special Olympics Basketball Tournament in Issaquah. Our house sent over twenty members to referee and Freshman Kyle Andrews sang the National Anthem to start off the games. Over 32 teams participated in the tournament which lasted all day.
