Pi Kappa Phi: Redefining Fraternity as a lifelong Brotherhood of Leaders.

President’s Welcome Hello and welcome to the Fall 2006 Alumni newsletter produced by the Arizona State University Associate Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. I hope this news letter finds you in good health and happiness. First, I would like to make clear that it is an honor to have been afforded the opportunity to follow in the esteemed footsteps of past Pi Kappa Phi’s such as yourselves. We at the ASU Associate Chapter are working hard to ensure that we fully portray the values, principles, and ideals that make Pi Kappa Phi the nation’s leading fraternity. We have reached and passed the halfway point in the great journey to chartering and although it has not been easy it is evident in the caliber of men and our drive to succeed that not only will we charter but we will do so as the most successful and respected chapter on our campus. It is our goal to fully redefine Greek Life at ASU and it is our charge as men of Pi Kappa Phi to stand up for what is good and what is right in the face of great adversity in a place long devoid of such devotion to what is honorable. We hope that you appreciate our efforts in continuing the traditions of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and we hope that you will join us in such efforts in the near future. Fraternally Yours, Francesco Dimitri Fragomeni

Alumni We Need You! Alumni we’re calling on each of you to help us! We are looking for alumni to assist in positions such as Alumni Board Chair, Finance & Budget Liaison, Housing Chair, & Alumni Chartering Liaison. Additionally we are looking for Alumni who can serve in big brother or mentor positions for our young men, many of whom are months away from embarking on their professional careers. Currently, as of the beginning of the month of November, we are forty-eight men strong and looking to pre-initiate at least 6 more men before our semester ends midDecember. In short, we need to work together to ensure the charter of our chapter here at Arizona State University. We’re calling on men of good character and integrity to come help out and be apart of fostering the growth and development of our brotherhood. We meet 7pm at Adelphi Commons II, 1342 S. Sunset Dr. Tempe, AZ. Contact Joe White at 602.334.6037 or JDWhite05@yahoo.com with any questions.

Brotherhood Retreat – Happy Jack, Arizona On the weekend of November 3rd – 5th our brotherhood traveled to Happy Jack, Arizona (a few miles north of Strawberry/Payson) and took part in a retreat that will not soon be forgotten. Among the activities: bear hunting, potato launching, grilling, a flag football tournament, capture the flag. On a more serious note, we developed our Risk Management outline with the help of Risk Management Chair Moe Abdalla, along with putting together our constitution with help from our Standards Board. Lastly, we were educated on the finer points of recruitment, as well as given an outline of our recruitment goals from Vice-Archon Greg Lindsay. Special thanks to Robert Corwin, Cody Compau, & Greg Lindsay for putting on an incredible retreat that allowed our brotherhood to bond and grow closer.

October’s Brother of the Month was Cody Compau. Cody was nominated and won by a stunning majority with his planning of the camping trip. Cody was instrumental in securing our campsite, as well as educating his brothers on local traditions in Strawberry, AZ. Thanks Cody! Past Brothers of the Month include Greg Richards who was Mr. September for his initiative, hard work, and outstanding member educations scores. Congratulations to these outstanding young men.
