Delta Beta This semester we have a new exec (who are listed at the bottom of the Newsletter) ready to attack the day and keep improving the chapter. The chapter is currently standing at a tall 61 active brothers. The last Delta Beta initiated was ΔΒ808. We have accepted 12 young men into our associate member process, who are eager or learn what it means to become a Brother of Pi Kappa Phi and a Delta Beta. We are preparing ourselves for a successful War of the Roses this semester and hoping to raise more money than last semester. We also have 3 brothers who are planning to participate in Journey of Hope, more news on this down below. As we continue to grow and reach goals we are excited about the future and what it holds. Delta Beta has always been a strong, different, and bonded chapter, we continue to hold true to these values and continue to develop outstanding leaders! ΟΔΗChapter Address
ALUMNI JOBS Some of our active brothers are slowly falling behind on their dues because of financial hardships. We are reaching out to our Alumni to help with this matter. If you are an Alumni and you have a small job, or a want to give a donation, to help some of the active brothers stay active and pay dues then contact our Historian. Thank you. Journey of Hope
We are excited to announce that we have 3 brothers this semester volunteering their time this summer to participate in Journey of Hope this summer and bike across America. Brothers Will McGarity, Jeff Michaud, and JD Michaud are gearing up to take on this amazing opportunity. Last summer Brothers Adam Brown and JD Michaud participated in Journey of Hope and are influencing others to tackle the Journey in future Summers. Will, Jeff, and JD will start biking from the West Coast on June 5th, but first, they have several financial deadlines that they must hit. The next deadline is $3500 by March 15th and the final one is $5500 by May 15th. If you would like to contact them their numbers are below, and if you would like to donate to their Journey the link is below. Nik Blanks’ “State of Fraternity Address” Brothers, Delta Beta is in a position where it can do one of two things, experience an exponential growth in the next year, or simply plateau. We choose not to do the latter. Growth, however, is followed by hardship. This hardship is not of an extrinsic perspective, but rather from within us. As the brothers who were active during periods of extreme growth understand, holding to our true values and remaining loyal becomes very difficult when the focus is set on our external appearance and increasing our numbers. Despite the difficulty, when faced with the uncommon opportunity set in front of us, we choose not to focus on what others expect, but rather what keeps us true to ourselves, exceptional leadership. The future is bright for Delta Beta. Through a focus on our unique values here at the University of North Georgia, what can be expected in the upcoming semesters is a brotherhood unlike all others on campus. Expect nothing less than greatness from this group of assholes, for they are united in a common goal. I look forward to serving the remainder of my time here at UNG as Archon and will continue to honestly profess that the two best decisions I made in my life were joining the Army and pledging Pi Kappa Phi. ODH brothers and God bless this Fraternity. Yours in Pi Kappa Phi, Nik Blanks Delta Beta
