Alumni of Pi Kappa Phi, Delta Sigma chapter, we are glad to re-establish contact with you. Over the past couple years there has been little contact between alumni and active members. We apologize for our lack of responsibility and effort that we have put into our relations with all of you. Well, the actives now are ready to mend up the wrongs that have been bestowed upon you by Delta Sigma. Now we are ready to make things better and keep all alumni informed of what we all love and have in common: Pi Kappa Phi. Alumni are just as important to the chapter as actives members are. We would also like to encourage you to come back anytime you want. It would be both fun

and interesting to exchange experiences that we all have. This is not just for the Pi Kappa Phi experiences but college experiences too. We also invite you to come back to rituals and other events you want to attend. As time changes so has this chapter. The actives would like to impress you by showing how the foundations you all set for us formed the chapter we have today.

Still the best house on campus!

Forever Brethren, Brothers of Pi Kappa Phi, Delta Sigma

STATE OF THE CHAPTER LETTER Greetings, I hope this newsletter finds you in the best of health. I would just like to take a few sentences to give you a brief overview of what’s been happening at Delta Sigma. The chapter has been experiencing changes and challenges, but nevertheless moving forward with great

strides. I am proud to say we are ranked 3rd among fraternities in GPA and received honors at Supreme Chapter for our academic achievement as well as our performance of the ritual. We also received awards from the University this spring for our commitment to community service and giving as well as academ-

ics. At the present the chapter is buzzing in preparation for homecoming and our 30th anniversary at BG which we hope you all can attend. I hope you enjoy the rest of the updates this letter contains. Take care and God bless Pi Kappa Phi! Fraternally, Cameron Tanner

CHAPTER NEWS This past year has been nothing but interesting. We have had many ups and downs. The chapter went through a total make over. After being visited a few times by our Regional Governor, Mark Urrutia, we reconstructed our

executive board and rewrote our chapter by-laws. Unfortunately, we lost a few guys along the way and our former chapter adviser. It’s all for the better now because we feel like we are the strongest we have been in a long time.

Never Again Spring 2006

After all the reconstruction positive things started to happen. In the 20052006 school year we initiated twelve guys. Not bad considering that there are 26 current active members now. We also just gave out around 15 bids for this fall semester. But recruitment isn't the only thing we have improved.

Our chapter GPA has dramatically changed too. Pi Kappa Phi at BGSU went from under a 2.5 GPA to having the third highest fraternity GPA out of all the Greek organizations. By the way the GPA was a 2.88 and we are planning to break the 3.0 barrier by the end of this year. Now we are planning for the future of the chapter. We are getting ready for the 30th anniversary of Pi Kappa Phi on BGSU’s campus. As we get ready for the future of the chapter we thought it was good to revisit our past.

AWARDS

“WE HAVE BEEN RECOGNIZED FOR OUR ACHIEVEMENTS”

The men of Delta Sigma are proud to announce that we have been recognized for our achievements for this past year. These awards reaffirm the fact that we are trying to make changes in our chapter. The awards also show that we are trying to be a positive role model for other Greek organizations on campus. We have been given a few awards through both Bowling Green State University and Pi Kappa Phi national fraternity. As you can see they are listed to the right of this passage.

PUSH AMERICA UPDATE Push America has always been a big part of this chapter. One of our own alumni, Jim Karlovec, helped form one of the two biggest bike rides in our fraternity’s history. We also have quite a few guys that have done national PUSH America events. Some are alumni and some of them are still active members. Last year we raised roughly $937 for PUSH. We raised this money through the famous Cage

Sit (picture to the right) and both pledge classes last year adopted a Pi Kapp Date Auction. Now we all know that raising money is not everything that PUSH is about. We also had quite a few guys from our chapter work the Special Olympics at Woodlane in Bowling Green. We have been doing a good job of making sure that we raise money, awareness and create service for children that are less fortunate.
