A Visit from President Lubbers Who would have known that the President Emeritus of Grand Valley was an alumni of our great organization? Arend D. Lubbers, former President of Grand Valley, was inducted as an honorary member of Pi Kappa Phi upon his arrival to campus in 1969. On Sunday, December 3rd, Lubbers was able to come to our Chapter Meeting. He made many remarks on his time in the fraternity from his favorite pastimes to giving the men advice as we journey through our experiences within our organization. Lubbers is responsible for the major expansions of the university in the region from the creation of the Pew Campus in downtown Grand Rapids to the Meijer Campus in Holland and the extended Muskegon and Traverse City programs.

On Tuesday, November 30, 2017, the brothers of Epsilon Beta collaborated together for our first philanthropy event to support The Ability Experience. With some of our brothers as volunteers, we invited everyone to participate to pie one of us for just $1 in Kirkhof Center! Interim Dean of Students, Steve Glass, even came out to pie our Philanthropy Chairman, Yousef! From this, not only were we able to raise $300 for The Ability Experience, but we were also able to gain great exposure from our student body on campus. Also, starting in January, our chapter will be partnering with the Down Syndrome Association of West Michigan in our efforts to support a local organization. We look forward to continuing to plan great philanthropy events in the near future! If you would like to contribute, contact our Philanthropy Chairman, Yousef.

Letter from the Archon

To the Brothers of Pi Kappa Phi - Epsilon Beta, I am excited to announce that the Epsilon Beta Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity is re-chartering here at Grand Valley! In just under one month, we have assembled a group of men who have bound themselves together in brotherhood more than any other, and our men have exemplified themselves to be exceptional leaders not only within our organization but in the community as well. Within our chapter, we strive for every member to be involved, not only in our fraternity, but in the community as well. ALL of our brothers are a part of other organizations on campus including the Stars for Make-a-Wish Foundation, Pre-Med Club, Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization, as well as Kids in Motion; and these are just a few of the clubs and organizations that our brothers are a part of. As we continue to grow, we have high hopes of recruiting new members who uphold our values and mission of creating an uncommon and lifelong brotherhood. At this time, our chapter is actively searching for a council of advisors, specifically a chapter advisor. If you believe this is something that you would be interested in, please reach out to me and I would be more than willing to answer any questions that you may have about the opportunity. As we transition into another semester and year, I want to wish you and your family Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! I hope the New Year brings you continued joy and many blessings to come. In Brotherhood, Conner Jack Carns

Upcoming Events There are currently no upcoming alumni events planned but we promise there will be soon. Please stay tuned, we will be sure to let you know well in advance.
