ETA RHO ALUMNI CHAPTER NEWSLETTER

Ihope this message finds you well and that you’re enjoying the summer. I’m thrilled to share some exciting news as we prepare for the fall semester. After several years off campus, our beloved Eta Rho chapter is returning this fall! This is a monumental phase for all of us, as the chapter will once again begin recruiting new members and continuing the proud legacy of Pi Kappa Phi at Texas State University.

In July, Pi Kappa Phi held its 58th Supreme Chapter in Baltimore, Maryland. Several brothers of Eta Rho attended. It was an incredible experience to connect with brothers from across the country, exchange ideas and renew our commitment to the values the Fraternity instilled in us. The energy and enthusiasm from that event have left us more motivated than ever to support our chapter's return.

Expansion Timeline

An expansion has three main phases: recruitment, education and chartering. During the recruitment phase, leadership consultants work to find men of character who will carry on Eta Rho’s legacy. Next, these newest recruits will complete the Associate Member Education Program and receive individual officer training. At this point, the chapter's foundation has been established, and they will work together to complete the chartering checklist. By completing this checklist, the newest members of the Eta Rho Chapter will demonstrate their ability to function as an active chapter and will receive a charter pending approval of the National Council.

THE 58TH SUPREME CHAPTER OF PI KAPPA PHI

From July 25-27, 2024, brothers of Pi Kappa Phi came together in Baltimore, Maryland, for the Fraternity’s 58th Supreme Chapter. Throughout the weekend, students and alumni conducted official Fraternity business, celebrated our brothers’ achievements since 2022 and spent quality time reconnecting with brothers and friends of Pi Kappa Phi. It was an incredible experience to connect with brothers from across the country, exchange ideas and renew our commitment to the values the Fraternity instilled in us.

Eta Rho was well represented by Zach Howard, Jonathan Nelson, Luis Garza, David Autry and Andrae Turner. These Eta Rho brothers enjoyed great fellowship, attended a baseball game at Camden Yards, Supreme Chapter legislative sessions and met brothers from other chapters.

During the Supreme Banquet, the location of upcoming national events was announced. We hope each of you will be able to join us for these future national events. Click on each event to learn more about the location.

SUPPORT THE ETA RHO ENDOWMENT

The Eta Rho Alumni Chapter embarked on an ambitious and achievable campaign to start an endowed scholarship in the name of the Eta Rho Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi at Texas State. As you read, the expansion has started and it is vitally important that we, the men of Eta Rho, continue to show our support for Texas State and these young men. We had the opportunity to meet with President Damphousse recently and he expressed support of the return of the chapter and Greek Life and our efforts to endow a scholarship.

The need for student scholarships has never been greater. This endowment will give the future men of the Eta Rho Chapter a distinct advantage over other chapters at Texas State, especially during recruitment.

I hope each of you will consider supporting this endowment that directly impacts our chapter.

For more information on how to make a one-time gift or set up a recurring gift to the Eta Rho Endowment, please contact Andrae Turner at andrae.turner@gmail.com.
