Pi Kappa Phi and CSC sold out Ackerman Grand Ballroom for their 2006 Battle of the Bands.
PiKapp Rocks the House Battle of the Bands grosses over $15,000, receives rave reviews If you host it, they will come. This winter, PiKapp Eta Sigma hosted the largest philanthropy event in its history, a five-group battle of the bands held in Ackerman Grand Ballroom, and the masses did indeed attend. Headlined by an acoustic performance by the Ataris, the show featured five bands from UCLA and the surrounding area and sold out the largest venue on campus. PiKapp cosponsored the event with the Community Service Commis-

sion, and the joint coordinating efforts of the CSC chair and our own Harsh Parikh, #182, were monumentally successful. While IFC advisor Scott Carter claimed to have provided a great deal of assistance to the chapter in their preparation, the reality of things is that PiKapp needed very little outside assistance to hold one of the greatest fraternity events UCLA has seen in years. The Inter-Fraternity Council had attempted to put together a
battle of the bands in 20042005, but the event was unsuccessful, and thus the magnitude of the chapter’s achievement is even more impressive. A special thanks goes out to all the alumni who showed up to support this Push event, from as far away as New York City, no less. It is always a pleasure to have alumni present to witness our continuance of their efforts. Proud to be.

Welcome, Omega Class
As I finish my term as Archon of Eta Sigma, I want to thank everyone for all their efforts in making this chapter what it is today. From actives to alumni, we all work together to bring credit to fraternity everywhere. It is an honor to be a member of this organization and to have served the brotherhood in my position. Proud to be.
Winter Class of 3 Men, 24th Class of Eta Sigma This past Saturday, March 11th, marked the 24th initiation performed by Eta Sigma UCLA. Held at the Masonic lodge in Santa Monica, three new PiKapp actives and a fourth alumni initiate experienced ritual. We would like to welcome new members Mike Jones, #209, Chris Wycoff, #210, and Nathan Heckmann, #211, as well as alumni initiate Mr. Jeff Davis, #212. This initiation marks the conclusionn of the terms of the mostrecent executive council. In the future, communications to the alumni will be from Matt Shelton, #186, our new historian.

Eta Sigma 10th Anniversary As you all know, this June will mark the 10 year anniversary of the chartering of the Eta Sigma chapter of Pi Kappa Phi at UCLA. Brother Hanafin to wed Brother Roger Hanafin will be getting himself hitched this spring, the weekend of May 12th, in San Diego. If you are interested in attending, email Roger. Accommodations are all covered, as the wedding will be held at the campsite where Roger and his bride met. It should be a great weekend. Best wishes, Roger.
Brother Sargeant, Regional Governer Brother Todd Sargeant has been named the regional governor of the west coast region for Pi Kappa Phi. Formerly chapter advisor at Cal State Fullerton, Brother Sargeant has oversees a region in which Eta Sigma recently won the regional award for best chapter yet again. Congratulations, Brother Sargeant. We are proud to have you representing our chapter on a national level, and we hope we can continue to make you proud to say you are a member of Eta Sigma.
