Greetings Brothers and Friends, This electronic newsletter will replace the traditional format of the Eta Update in the coming months. It is our hope that by providing an electronic format, with more targeted updates in a more frequent manner, we are able to keep our growing alumni base more up to date with the activities of the active chapter and our fellow alumni. You should expect to see this electronic communication twice a month, providing updates on the active chapter, alumni events, and issues related to the Housing Corporation. You will likely see regular contributions from: Alex McGauley, Historian (mcgaulap@muohio.edu) Matt Wray, Chapter Advisor, Regional Governor (matthew.e.wray@us.pwc.com) Greg Grilliot, Chairman of Eta Upsilon Founders Commission (greg_grilliot@hotmail.com) Brandon Tudor, President of Eta Upsilon Housing Corporation (brandon.tudor@mac.com) We all hope that you find this new format enjoyable and informative. If you have any questions, comments, or recommendations, please feel free to contact us.
Save The Date! Spring Alumni Weekend - April 24-26, 2009 By Matt Wray, #121 - Chapter Advisor, Regional Governor Having recently celebrated our 10th anniversary in 2006, it’s nearly time to reconvene again in Oxford. We are currently in the process of planning the first of what we hope will be many Eta Upsilon alumni weekends. It will be a chance to celebrate a rich history as the leading fraternity on Miami's campus. But more than anything, it will be an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make new ones and to reconnect with those fond memories of your Pi Kapp experience. Save the date for April 24-26, 2009 The weekend's events are currently being planned under the leadership of over a dozen brothers, stretching across over 12 years of HY history. If you are interested in being a part of the planning effort or if you have ideas on the events you'd like to see, please contact Matt Wray at 513.254.4002 or matthew.e.wray@us.pwc.com. ~Host Committee~ Greg Grilliot :: Patrick Willoughby :: John Healy :: Josh Lundell :: Dr. Bill Gracie :: Brandon Tudor :: Matt Wray :: Ryan Swensen :: Eric McNeily :: Kevin McDonald :: Adam VanTreese :: Paul Rotella :: Alex McGauley

Active Chapter Update
By Alex McGauley, #249 - Historian On November 8, 2008, Pi Kappa Phi welcomed seven new brothers, initiating the Psi Class. The fall semester was another successful period for Eta Upsilon. Pi Kapp received fourth place in Greek Week this year, earning first place in Bandstand, second place in Ultimate Frisbee, third place in Basketball, fourth place in Volleyball, and first place in the Canned Food Drive. Here in Oxford, Eta Upsilon learned that it won the Five Pillars Award from the Cliff Alexander Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and Leadership. This award distinguishes Pi Kappa Phi of having excellence in leadership, brotherhood, academics, community service, and community. A new Executive Council was elected with James Sharpe as Archon, Alex Harkess as Vice Archon, Ken Valuska as Treasurer, Zach Heimach as Warden, Alex McGauley as Historian, Scott Brenstuhl as Chaplain, and Tom Evans as Push Executive Officer. Six brothers are planning to undergo the Journey of Hope or Build America. Eric Igel, Scott Brenstuhl, Matt Mossman and Tom Evans will be cycling across the country. Nicholas Powell and Nathan Wood will be with Build America. Eta Upsilon also congratulates alumnus Adam Troeger for his Project Manager position with Push America this upcoming summer. Also, Eta Upsilon sent a dozen brothers to GAP (Give A Push) weekend in Toledo earlier this fall.
