SUMMER 2010

Gamma Nus PI KAPPA PHI – GAMMA NU LAGRANGE COLLEGE

ARCHON’S LETTER Thanks for picking up and reading the new first edition of Gamma Nus.. As Archon, I wante wanted to quickly update you on the current chapter. Gamma Nu Chapter has been improving upon the traditions started by those who came before us and have started to lay a solid foundation for the brothers yet to come. We are making great headway in reorganizing the way the chapter has been running in order to resolve our current debt to the College. This is taking a lot of sacrifice and dedication from the brotherhood brotherhood, and still we recently won the annual nnual Greek Week events for the third straight year.

Additionally, we are looking ooking forward to a great fall semester. We initiated 7 new men last fall and recently initiated 3 this spring. We are taking this summer to make necessary repairs to our house and attend this summer’s college orientations in hopes of finding Potential New Members for the fall 2010 semester. Although we were not able to win the scholarship cholarship cup this year, the two previous years we were able to receive this award award. We were able to win the step sing small group last year and have decided to put more effort into winning the next one in 2011. A few of the brothers were able to teach the he rest of the brothers how to ‘step’ at the end of this year. We are going to perfect it and incorporate Yellow Ribbon into it for Step Sing.

Our alumni are a huge part of the Gamma Nu Chapter. There is so much we want to discuss with you as well as listen to the stories of what the chapter was like in the past. I look forward to having the chance to talk to all of you through the newsletters, and hopefully in person one day. We are working on a few things to help all of you have the chance of being bei more involved with the chapter.. Homecoming last year was a good chance to meet many of you and hear some of the stories of this chapter’s past. This next homecoming we are trying to have an alumni vs brothers softball game. The house will be open and, if the house repairs go as planned, plan it will be in much better shape this year. The brothers will reserve the regular spot in the parking lot for the LaGrange Homecoming football game. This is the corner orner of the parking lot along the side of the soccer field. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns involving homecoming let us know. The chapter has an alumni Facebook F page and I would encourage everyone to join if you have a Facebook. acebook. You can reach me through the page or by e-mail at rcmoser@lagrange.edu and I will get back to you with any questions or concerns you may have. I look forward to seeing you around! around In Pi Kappa Phi, Brother Ryan Moser Gamma Nu 558

PUSH AMERICA In our continuing effort to help Push America, we will be holding an event called “Rockin’ for Push”, which will involve the brotherhood pledging their time to sit in rocking chairs on the patio outside the new library. We also have other ideas that we need to put to paper like: “Push-ups” for Push and even getting some local companies to give us grant towards this movement. Awareness is a goal of the Push America organization, so we as a chapter need to make it more of a priority to spread the word and create awareness. We were able to raise some money through community service projects rewarded with a charitable donation, such as valet parking for Hills and Dales opening ng of the Callaway Mansion. If anyone has any other ideas to suggest that would be great. Iff you would like any more information about Gamma Nu’s Push endeavors, feel free to contact our Push Chairman Brother Nick Nelson at nbnlson@lagrange.edu. Brother Nick Nelson, Push Chairman

The copies will be scaled down and reprinted on water color paper. paper They will be 8x10 as the standard size,, but if you would like to get a larger one, they can be made available upon request. We W will be selling this painting as matted and framed, matted, or just the painting itself. Due to the price of the initial scanning fee, the prices will vary upon the amount of interest in purchasing. We will do all that is possible to keep the prices reasonable while ensuring a high quality.
