Kappa Delta’s Shamrock Showcase This past march, the Iota Sigma Associate Chapter at San Jose State University participated in Kappa Delta’s 20th annual Shamrock Showcase! Proceeds from various fundraising events hosted between March 7th and March 9th went to Prevent Child Abuse America and YWCA, a local philanthropy which focuses on eliminating racism and empowering women. The brothers of Iota Sigma showed their support by coming to the fundraising events, such as the one pictured to the left.

Thomas O’Donnell (leftmost in picture to the right): “I joined Pi Kappa Phi to get involved on campus and meet new people. Shamrock definitely helped with that. I was able to really get to know some of the bros as well as meet new people in and outside of Greek life.” Our brothers take the stage for the dance competition!

On the third and final day of the philanthropy, our brothers participated in the dance competition portion. Each participating organization performed a two-minute dance routine that was judged and contributed to overall points in the competition. The brothers of our chapter were awarded a Rookie of the Year paddle (pictured to the right) that was presented by Kappa Delta team captains at our following chapter.

Alpha Phi Ball Thanks to the wonderful ladies of Alpha Phi sorority, our brothers were given the chance to participate in their “Phi Ball” competition! Our brothers met and played tournament-style games with several other fraternities like Alpha Epsilon Pi, Pi Kappa Alpha, Sigma Nu, and Beta Theta Pi. In the end, our pink visor, white t-shirt, and pink fanny pack outfits were awarded Best Dressed from the judges! Looks like our brothers had a ball at Phi Ball!

Spring Rush Round Two Midterms have come around as we are halfway through the semester, but we are continuing our search for individuals who can contribute to our chapter and benefit from the Pi Kapp experience! Beginning on Monday, April 3, our brothers kicked off a second spring recruitment, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Recruitment Committee. Our member Nick Zamora, a gifted photographer, provided each of our members with headshots as well as the stellar group photo (featured below) to post on social media to help spread the word.
