Theta-Epsilon News A Pi Kappa Phi Alumni Publication University of Kansas www.pikappaphiku.com Spring 2006 Alumni Adviser’s Report As reminded by the Pi Kappa Phi Student Creed, it is the goal of our alumni association to “safeguard the reputation of their chapter” and “bear their share of the financial burden”. With our assistance in these areas and others, there is no reason our chapter can’t become the ideal chapter at KU. Listed below are a few agendas that we hope will contribute positively to our chapter’s future and also provide us with an opportunity to keep-up with fellow brothers. Our alumni association will be no different than starting a chapter, as it will likely start small and require constant attention. With these things in mind, we intend to open a bank account in the name of the KU Pi Kappa Phi Alumni Association in the near future. This account will help cover the costs of our alumni functions, in addition to providing chapter support (i.e. annual scholarships, housing upgrades, etc.). Donations have already been pledged and each alumni event is intended to serve as a social fundraiser for our association. Further information regarding the Alumni Association financing is forthcoming. On an equally important note, our first official Alumni Association function is scheduled for Saturday, April 22nd in Lawrence. Plans involve the 1st Annual KU Pi Kappa Phi Alumni Golf Tournament to be followed by a bus pub crawl beginning at 9:00pm. We would like this event to become the Alumni’s annual spring fundraiser and hope for a large turnout. For everyone interested, please contact me by email at aek@greatsouthernbank.com. Due to the current financial constraints of our association, all attendants will have to pay for the majority of their own expenses. It is the goal that these events will eventually be partially covered by the alumni association and create additional financial support for the chapter. If you have any questions/concerns/suggestions please feel free contact me by email or phone. The date for the alumni golf event has been finalized so please mark your calendars and/or book your flights. Hope to see you all April 22nd.
