In order to keep those bonds strong and continue the Page 6 – Undergraduate News traditions that are dear to each of us, Zeta Chi has created the constitution and by-laws for an alumni chapter. Scores of ZX alumni descended on Atlantic City, New Jersey at the end of January to create the framework of a new Alumni Chapter. In an example of the fraternity and ability inherent in ZX brothers, an entire Attendees at the Atlantic City Chartering constitution was drafted and ratified in a single day. Not only was a business meeting held, but brothers had the opportunity to enjoy the night life of A.C. and the chance to reunite with friends from every era of ZX. The cooperation and accomplishments exhibited during the weekend serve as a Page 1 – Alumni Chapter Explanation Page 2 – E-Board Bios

testament to the strength and benefits that come with bringing together men of like mind and character. Any organization is only as strong as its members, and this new Alumni Chapter promises to be a lasting forum for brothers to enjoy the bonds of fraternal fellowship after graduation from Albright. Pi Kappa Phi and Zeta Chi have so much to offer all of us. The time and effort invested during our undergraduate years was for more than a four year membership. There are benefits to fraternal membership that are infinitely more relevant in our professional and adult lives than they were during our college experience. The newsletter you are reading is just the first of many communications that will come from the ZX Alumni Chapter. We look forward to the stronger bonds that will result from increased communication and interaction amongst ZX’s brothers. We hope you will join us in making this organization a strong one. We are all excited by the possibilities of a chapter made up of hundreds of ZX brothers. - Your Inaugural Alumni Board

First Annual Zeta Chi Alumni Softball Tournament On Saturday, April 16, 2005, active and alumni brothers took part in the first annual Zeta Chi softball tournament. Event organizers Mike Netznik ’00 and Rich Carrione ’03 headed an incredibly well received opportunity to get in on some friendly competition throughout the day on Science field. Throughout the bracketed tournament, barbequing took place and offered winded and famished players a chance at recharging. Despite ages that were at times over ten years the senior of a newly initiated brother, one of the alumni teams proved their mettle by making it to the championship game. The previous evening’s initiation ceremony served only to enhance the feelings of brotherhood present throughout the various games. Although no official “MVP” was crowned, each and every brother involved agreed that the event was a winner and well worth repeating come April 2006. Here’s to seeing you there in the spring!

This Year’s Tournament will be held on APRIL 8 – See you there!

The Second annual Alumni Softball Tournament - APRIL 8 A grill, a glove, a field of grass, and a group of ZX brothers – come out and enjoy the 2nd annual Alumni Softball Tournament. Games will begin at 11:00AM on the softball field in front of North Hall. Similar to last year, in order to cover the costs associated with the food and beverages, we will be asking for small donations. For those brothers initiated in the Alpha, Eta, or Nu classes, this would be a great time to reunite with your associate class, as you celebrate 15, 10 or 5 years of being a brother of Pi Kappa Phi. Chapter News Strong communication will be critical to the strength of Zeta Chi’s alumni ties. At only two months old, the chapter already has several news items. • Founding of the chapter (see article on page 1) • Initiation – This year’s class is expected to become brothers on the 7th of April • Annual Alumni Softball Tournament (See page 3) • Alumni Chapter Inductions for Graduation Seniors – A ceremony is planned for Saturday, the 13th of May Alumni Spotlight One of the first lessons we learned in Zeta Chi is that we are all interconnected within the fraternity. The actions of one brother affect the lives of us all. The Alumni Spotlight is an opportunity for the entire Alumni body to learn the life changes and accomplishments of its members. Please share any personal announcements that you would like to see in this section of the newsletter. All content can be sent to Jake Weyant, VP of Communications (harryjamer@aol.com) Message from the President Greetings Alumni: In two short months, we have made tremendous strides to strengthen our lifelong commitment to brotherhood and to reconnect with our fellow Pi Kapps. As our alumni chapter continues to grow and evolve, the support of each of you is needed to ensure the future success of our chapter. To further our progress as a board, we are in the process of establishing chairman positions. We have already created newsletter, photography, website, and recruiting positions. Therefore, anyone interested in serving as a chairman or if you are interested in assisting with the existing positions, please contact me. I look forward to talking to each of you and seeing you at future events. Fraternally, Mike Netznik Mobile: 484-332-1617 Alumni Chapter President

Undergraduate News Charles “Chach” Kolb became a ZX brother in the spring of 2004 and is participating in this year’s Gear Up Florida.

. Dear Zeta Chi Alumni: On May 11, 2006 I will join 35 other Pi Kappa Phi’s from universities across the country and begin a 16 day, 800 mile cycling trip called Gear Up Florida. Gear Up Florida is a cross-state bicycle trip raising funds and awareness on behalf of people with disabilities. The rest of the Gear Up Florida team and I will be cycling from Miami to Tallahassee, bringing the message of Push America in unique and inspiring ways. We will be making dozens of presentations in communities across Florida, helping others to understand the issues facing those with disabilities. After cycling an average of 70 miles each day, we will also take part in many special events, including meeting with those individuals for whom we are riding. I am extremely excited about the opportunity to not only raise funds and awareness for those with disabilities, but also to represent Zeta Chi. If you would be interested in contributing to Push America and to my efforts towards Gear Up Florida please contact me by e-mail (ckolb@pikappaphizx.com) or visit my online profile (link provided at bottom) which allows you to donate via credit card and be recognized as a sponsor. Your contributions will allow Push America to not only support those with disabilities now but in the future. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
