Our WA holding has grown in value and rental return rapidly. I have set-up a strategy to add to the portfolio every quarter which allows for research, finance and credit scoring. My goal is to build a property portfolio over $30m, continue to passively invest and move into buy, renovate, sell and develop.

Ms Thomas takes up the story Having worked for several years in the finance sector I was familiar with the intricacies of funding a property purchase, and my experience proved invaluable in 2007 when I decided to begin investing in property. Initially I didn’t have a business plan as I wanted to start off small and see where it would take me. I began investing actively in the last twelve months when I decided to grow my portfolio. The biggest setback I faced starting out was lack of knowledge about property. I knew about finance but not property and missed some great opportunities. I have now surrounded myself with like-minded people and experts to get the right advice
