1. Has there been a dramatic decrease in rents in Karratha and the surrounding suburbs? 2. How long will it take to lease my property? 3. What can we do to lease the property quickly? You don’t need to be a mind reader to read between the lines. Property investors are spooked by the increase of rental properties in the market. To answer each of these questions in turn: Has there been a dramatic decrease in rents in Karratha and the surrounding suburbs? The answer is of course, no. There hasn’t been a dramatic decrease in rents. It is true the supply of rental properties in Karratha and the surrounding suburbs has increased. But like any economy, when supply is increased, demand drops and prices need to be adjusted accordingly. Rental prices have decreased marginally from preChristmas 2011, but are very much in line with where we were this time last year.

Karratha rental prices may not be as sky-high as last year, but there has been no dramatic fall. How long will it take to lease my property? The easiest way to approach this question is from a prospective tenant’s perspective. Is the property clean? Is the property well maintained? Does the property need a fresh coat of paint?
