PRAYER OF PREPARATION
Almighty God, you sent Jesus, our good shepherd, to gather us together. May we not wander from his flock, but follow where he leads us, listening for his voice and staying near to him until we are safely in his fold to live with you forever. Amen.

Savior God, you guide us, but we are slow to follow and stubborn. You welcome us to your fold, but we make others feel as if they don’t belong. Forgive our lifealienating ways, our exclusion and judgment; the way we evaluate and compare, demean and degrade. Redeem us. Restore us. Help us be faithful as your flock.

Many: Thanks be to God. Amen.

PSALM 23 – Read in unison. Translated from the Common English Bible
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

† AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
This is the good news which we have received, in which we stand, and by which we are saved, if we hold it fast: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day; and that he appeared first to the women, then to Peter, and to the Twelve, and then to many faithful witnesses. We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus Christ is the first and the last, the beginning and the end; he is our Lord and our God. Amen.
† THE PEACE
One: The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Many: And also with you.

ANTHEM Christ is Made the Sure Foundation
Rachel Aarons
Christ is made the sure foundation, Christ the head and cornerstone, chosen of the Lord, and precious, binding all the church in one; holy Sion’s help forever, and her confidence alone. All that dedicated city, dearly loved of God on high, in exultant jubilation, pours perpetual melody; God the One in Three adoring in glad hymns eternally. To this temple, where we call thee, come, O Lord of Hosts, today; with thy wonted lovingkindness, hear thy servants as they pray, and thy fullest benediction shed within its walls always. Here vouchsafe to all thy servants what they ask of thee to gain; what they gain from thee, forever with the blessed to retain, and hereafter in thy glory evermore with thee to reign.
† PRESENTATION OF THE GIFTS
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise Christ, all people here below; Praise Holy Spirit evermore; praise triune God, whom we adore. Amen.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
