O God, our fountain of life, grant us your good gifts this day. Call us to drink from your water of delights. Welcome us to feast in your house of abundance. Teach us to find refuge in you as we learn to walk in your light together this day. Amen.

Many: God’s saving judgment reaches further than the great depths.
One: All people may take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
Many: In your house, we feast on your abundance and drink from the river of joy.

† HYMN 619 Praise, My Soul, the God of Heaven
† PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Loving Lord, we long to be your faithful people, but our good intentions run out, and we come up empty. For all the ways we fall short in our sin, forgive us, Gracious One. Change us like water into wine to become what the world lacks, that our church, our community, our nation, and all creation may know your justice and love.
SILENCE FOR PERSONAL CONFESSION

† AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
From the PC(USA) Brief Statement of Faith (1983)
In life and in death we belong to God. Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we trust in the one triune God, the Holy One of Israel, whom alone we worship and serve.
We trust in God the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and renewer of life. The Spirit justifies us by grace through faith, sets us free to accept ourselves and to love God and neighbor, and binds us together with all believers in the one body of Christ, the Church. The same Spirit who inspired the prophets and apostles rules our faith and life in Christ through Scripture, engages us through the Word proclaimed, claims us in the waters of baptism, feeds us with the bread of life and the cup of salvation, and calls women and men to all ministries of the church. In a broken and fearful world the Spirit gives us courage to pray without ceasing, to witness among all peoples to Christ as Lord and Savior, to unmask idolatries in Church and culture, to hear the voices of peoples long silences, and to work with others for justice, freedom, and peace. In gratitude to God, empowered by the Spirit, we strive to serve Christ in our daily tasks and to live holy and joyful lives, even as we watch for God’s new heaven and new earth, praying “Come, Lord Jesus!”
With believers in every time and place, we rejoice that nothing in life or in death can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Amen.

ANTHEM Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing James Mulholland Come, Thou fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing Thy grace; streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above; praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it, mount of God’s unchanging love! Here I raise my Ebenezer; hither by Thy help I’m come; and I hope, by Thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, wandering from the fold of God; He to rescue me from danger, interposed His precious blood. O to grace how great a debtor daily I’m constrained to be! Let that grace now, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to Thee; prone to wander, Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love; here’s my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for Thy courts above.
† PRESENTATION OF THE GIFTS

LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
