1) What would you say has been the key to growing your online community of fans beyond half of a MILLION followers? I think that interacting with your fans is really important and posting things they will find interesting and want to share with their own friends doesn't hurt either. Also, people like REAL people. So much of the world is fake, just being yourself and letting everyone know that you are human too is always important. 2) What was your first tattoo? How old were you when you got it? My first set of tattoos that I got were the tattoos on my wrists that read "love" & "lust". I got them when I was 17, this was right at the time I moved out on my own. The next tattoo I got after those, was the octopus on my arm. I'm sure if I had had the money at the time, I would have gone straight for the half sleeve first! 3) You are an entrepreneur and own multiple different companies, can you tell us a little bit about each of them? I do own a few different companies, and have my hand in a few others as well. But I am actually in the process of phasing all of them out, and focusing on one single business: ELEVEN LUXX. ELEVEN LUXX is an artistically driven site for creators of art (models & photographers) to come together, share their work with each other and the world and earn an income while doing so. Version 1.0 is up right now, and we have BIG, BIG plans for ELEVEN LUXX and will be updating it and announcing new features all the time. It's VERY exciting. 4) What has been your biggest accomplishment as an entrepreneur thus far? Biggest challenge? I guess my biggest accomplishment and biggest challenge are one in the same. That would be just be getting one of my online boutiques up and running, all on my own. I went out and got a business loan all on my own, I purchased everything, I got it all photographed, I had the entire site built, got all of the paperwork filed with the government etc. That was all a HUGE challenge (California is not
a good place to open a business! So many hoops). 5) Do you have any plans for another company? I do! The other company I mentioned, ELEVEN LUXX. This is the new baby. It is getting all of my attention and then some! 6) You are engaged and will be getting married soon, can you describe what your wedding plans are? I don't really like planning stuff, so I picked an AMAZING location, at an amazing, all inclusive resort where everyone can kind of fend for themselves. haha We will be traveling all the way to the Dominican Republic to a 10 star resort. The specific location is Punta Cana, it is a gorgeous beach with caves, natural springs, waterfalls and more. We will be saying "I do" at sunset outside near the beach under a beautiful cabana, then we will be partying all night to celebrate and this will continue for 7 more days in paradise with our friends and family! I cannot wait to tie the knot there in Punta Cana! 7) You recently left LA, what made you decide to leave and what is in store for you now? Yes, I am not a fan of LA. I actually created a video of all the reasons I decided to leave LA you can find it on my youtube (www. youtube.com/KristenLeanne8). I moved to Austin, TX. But I have to say, it's a cool place to visit... but it really isn't my cup of tea for a place to live. I will be traveling in Europe for a few months, and after that, I think I will be heading back down to Carlsbad or Encinitas and stay there for a while and see how U like it! I am from San Diego, and being close to family has always been important to me. 8) Does your profession ever cause issues in your relationship? My profession does not ever cause issues in my relationship. Most would think so, but my fiancé Ryan is my biggest supporter. He supports everything I do, and he loves going to my shoots and taking some behind the scenes videos etc. Our new baby, ELEVEN LUXX was inspired by his involvement
45
in my shoots, taking video and behind the scenes pictures etc. It was mostly his idea initially, and we work on it together, adding each of our own ideas to it as we go along. 9) You have been featured in many music videos including: Green Day, T-Pain feat. Chris Brown & more. What was the experience like? Which video was your favorite to work on? Do you enjoy being featured in music videos, or do you prefer modeling? Music videos are a lot of fun! Some way more fun than others. Some, the process is pretty much miserable, but the outcome is awesome. My favorite music video was definitely Green Day. The band was awesome, funny and really down to earth, which made being in super uncomfortable outfits for 12+ hours a lot more tolerable! I definitely prefer modeling over music videos, but every now and then they are fun to do. I'll enjoy them more when I have a principal role, but I only have to be on set for an hour, and I don't have to show up until after 11am! haha that sounds good to me. Unfortunately, that's never how it goes! There's lots of waiting around, and more waiting. But none the less, I always get excited to see what the end result looks like! The most recent one I did, was Ed Sheeran's video SING. That was a blast! 10) How can girls start an empire like you have done? Any advice? Everyone has to blaze their own trail, and figure things out for themselves, but my best advice would be to LOVE YOURSELF, stay humble, don't burn bridges, keep your eye on the prize and work your ass off for it. "It was so easy to get famous and have a successful one woman empire!" said no woman ever who started from nothing. Nothing worth having is easy to get, the sooner you realize that and get off your butt and work, the sooner you'll have what you want! No one ever got ahead copying others, or being a difficult person to be around/work with. Karma is a bitch, as they say. Be the change you wish to see in others; people will notice you.

Growing up Ivy has never followed society’s norm, and why should she or anyone else? She built her character by marching to the beat of her own drums. Staying true to herself, family and her peers. We see her at death metal shows, hear her on the radio and in media, see her on stage hosting such events as the Ink N Iron Festival, Roadshow Revival, and more. Most recently, even seen in the new campaign with Ford Motor Vehicles. This girl’s got it and we can’t get enough of her! Ivy began her modeling career by accident of all things, and began by doing classic pin-up work for a photographer friend taking some college classes. Those images ended up being picked up for publication, and vintage-inspired clothing giants began to hire her for their catalogs and campaigns. She still does to this day but has ventured into more creative photoshoots; her modeling is her creative outlet. As a painter uses a canvas, Ivy utilizes her imagination in front of the camera. And proudly, broke the tattooed barrier a few years back by walking runway for Fashion Week! When asked about her love for all things retro, it was easy for the love to blossom. With Harley Davidsons and hotrods in the driveway it was easy to grow to love that lifestyle. Seeing pinup girl art and especially watching classic films with Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly… to listening to great rockabilly and rock classics, it was natural. That all translates into Ivy’s modeling, even with modern hair/makeup or an edgy wardrobe she will incorporate that sophisticated class and elegance into anything she touches. For more of Ivy's shenanigans, follow her at @ivydmuerta, or visit her website www.ivydmuerta.com.
