it’s pink season in “nice, neh?”, again! “It has been wonderful to be part of creating something worthy that is going to make a difference in the lives of so many people.” Some events that come immediately to mind are The Visibility Workshop, Dinner and Concert to raise awareness of hate crimes against vulnerable members of our community, as well as the Medieval Feast and Fundraising Auction, hosted by the dashing Tobi Jooste at Villa Castollini.
We have made very sure that 2017 offers a variety of opportunities for revellers and attendees of the festival to be able to give back to their communities. There are also some things I’m personally excited about. We recently got confirmation from the gay, bi and LGBTQ+ inclusive touch rugby squad, The Jozi Cats, that they will be in attendance this year. The Big Splash hat creation competition at Lakeside Lodge and Spa on the 30th of April sounds like it’s going to be hysterical, and as always, I can’t wait for the annual parade on Saturday the 29th. Every year we face the mammoth task of securing sponsors, and we are so grateful for the brands and businesses that have faithfully stepped up to the plate year after year. It’s always fantastic to see how perceptions of these brands and companies become elevated by the community members that attend the festival. Maybe you could step up and align your brand with this opportunity to target relatively affluent captive market?
