The project “Some Humans for Mars” attempts to find answers to the ethical questions surrounding the exploration of Mars. The opinions of experts, both philosophers and scientists, are quoted to question the rhetorics that articulate the narrative of space exploration, the effects of human practices on planet Earth and as well as the potential “colonisation of Mars”.

The project also presents alternative perspectives, narratives traditionally unseen, and motivates us to question our role and responsibility in our bond with planet Earth, allowing us to maybe re-configure a narrative as a human species.

“¿Qué haremos con Marte? Hay tantos ejemplos de abuso humano de la Tierra que el mero hecho de formular esta pregunta da escalofríos.”

Kare

Kare is a conceptualisation project for the creation of an interactive system to strengthen networks of care and mutual support. For this purpose, merging technology, science and art, an interactive device dedicated to the expressivity of emotions and connectivity between individuals was designed. It is a device capable of interacting with one or more sibling devices to facilitate users’ recognition of emotions through physical reactions, management on an individual and collective level as a practice of mutual support.

We experimented with physiological sensorics, wireless communication devices, programming of communication protocols and an interaction study regarding emotions and links between individuals for networking.

Urban Ecosystems

Spirulina is a project for the conceptualisation of a controlled ecosystem that guarantees the culture of the organisms involved (Spirulina and Noctulia) and takes advantage of the energetic potential of the system in the coexistence of the living organisms.

To this effect, an investigation and design of a containment system was done with the purpose of taking advantage of the properties of both organisms in coexistence and the implementation of a solution for urban infrastructure. The projected habitat is an urban urinal, the organisms take advantage of the nutritional value of the waste and by virtue of the ecosystemic dynamics of the organisms, bioluminescence and water purification are generated. The project was guided by architect Laia Mogas, Phd - Biomedical Engineering MIT.

Open Hand

Open Hand is a research study for the creation of an assistive device for the exercise, rehabilitation and operability of the hand and fingers in users with nervous or muscular conditions.

Generative design is applied with software such as Rhino+Grasshopper, to create a flexible piece, rigid enough for postural adjustment, made in 3D printing without complex post-processes and in PLA material to facilitate distributed fabrication and facilitate the accessibility of the device.

The European Municipalist Route Map Report

The project is a mapping of the current European municipalist movement. The collective mapping process developed an analytical approach to provide a multidimensional understanding of the values and practices of each organisation.

One of the results of the project is the compilation of territorial reports, providing information on the targets and activities of the different municipalist actors, analysing this information and creating a data visualisation and graphical image of the European municipalist ecosystem.

Wommuter

Smart Bag for women commuter bikers. The design approach for the development of the product seeks to respond to the issues raised in the “Study of Cycling Mobility from a feminist perspective” by Collectiu Punt 6 of April 2020, Barcelona.

The product integrates electronics and hardware such as arduino, smart-textiles and wireless communication, its main objective is to collect data about mobility, to give visibility to bikers on the road as well as to capture sensible data for women and their interaction on the road from a gender perspective.
