OFFICE OUTLOOK We had a wonderful turnout at this year’s Pinto World Championship® Show. It was great having the Long Ear Division included in the World Show for the first time ever. Thank you to everyone who traveled to Tulsa to be a part of such a wonderful Horse Show! As always, we look forward to our next event. The Color Breed Congress® Show will be here before we know it. I would like to welcome back ABRA to this year’s Congress! I also hope to see familiar faces and new faces alike in Tulsa at the Built Ford Tough Livestock Complex from November 2-10, for some great equine competition. See you soon!

TRAILER RACE

The highest point earners of the year will win oneyear’s use of a new Sundowner Trailer from Twin Cities South Trailer Sales in Pilot Point, TX. The trailer is a two-horse straight load bumper pull trailer (Charter model) with dressing room. The winners have the option to purchase the trailer at any time within the one-year period or upon the completion of the agreement for dealer cost. Upon completion of the one year’s use, if the trailer is not purchased, it is to be returned to Twin Cities South Trailer Sales located in Pilot Point, Texas. The award will be calculated by ROM points earned at PtHA® approved shows from Jan. 1 – Dec. 31. The award will be given to the highest point earner in three divisions: Youth 18 & Under, Amateur 19 & Over, and Open Pinto. For the youth and amateur divisions, the award will be calculated for units only. A unit is defined by the PtHA® rulebook as one youth/one Pinto or one amateur/one Pinto. Ties within a division will be broken as follows: the first tie will be awarded to the unit that earned points in the greatest number of PtHA® approved local shows, the second tie will be awarded to the unit that earned points in the greatest number of PtHA® ROM-pointed classes, subsequent ties will be awarded to the unit with the most first place point-earning wins, second place point-earning wins, etc.

Forfeited prizes will become property of PtHA® and/or ARC, Twin Cities South Trailers, Shorty’s Caboy Hattery or GIST. Awards are not redeemable for cash.

To be eligible: Exhibitor must be a member in good standing with PtHA®. The Pinto must be registered in PtHA’s regular registry. The following will not count toward the high point award: Points earned at the Pinto World Championship Show. Points earned from the average card at a Jubilee show. Points earned from a Novice, costume, leadline, walk/ trot, produce of dam, get of sire, grand and reserve halter class or any other non-point earning class. AWARDS: 1st Place - One Year Use of a Trailer from Twin Cities South Trailers & a Gist Silversmith Buckle 2018 Sundowner two-horse straight load bumper pull trailer (Charter model) with dressing room to be presented to the overall high point Open, Youth and Amateur at the 2019 Convention. A LETTER FROM YOUR YOUTH PRESIDENT Hey YOUth! I’m Lucy Lewis, the current Youth Pinto President. It’s been a whirlwind summer with many world shows come and gone. Pinto World was a success for many and thank you to everyone who attended this year or even just cheered on the show from home! Win or lose, everybody at Pinto continues to be humble and have a good day. The tack judges and holding pen crew are all great people and always offer me words of encouragement or some laughs before my class goes in. I’ve competed in PtHA® shows from the midwest all the way to Texas and I haven’t had a bad experience yet, Pinto really is “family” to me. I have met many lifelong friends through my years going to Pinto shows, including Pinto World and Color Breed Congress. And, even though they are my toughest competition, at the end of the day they are still my very best friends. It’s the greatest feeling to know there are people who will stand by you and celebrate your win with you. Always reach out to your competitors! You never know what great things can come out of it! School has also started back up this past month and I want to wish all students good luck for the first few months of school. Be safe and successful! I know how busy school schedules can get but I’m hoping you all can catch a week break this November 2-10 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to join PtHA and many other breeds for the Color Breed Congress! One of my favorite shows of the year!

YOUTH SPOTLIGHT STORY This was my first year showing in the Pinto World Championship® Show. Horses have always been a large part of my family’s life. My Dad (Dale Bushue) and sister (Mikala Lindsay) have shown for years, and about three years ago, I was able to join them by showing Halter horses. I was born with Scoliosis, bilateral club feet, and a form of Spina Bifida. Throughout my life I have been to multiple doctors who told my mom and dad that I would possibly never walk. I have undergone numerous surgeries and will likely face more surgeries in the future. With the help of my family, my team of doctors, and the Lord, I am determined to live my life to the fullest. This Fall, I will be a Senior. During the school year, I am involved in many clubs and organizations - such as The National Honor Society. I plan on attending college after graduating to pursue my dream of becoming an Attorney. My gelding, LEGENDS STYLE (AKA “BIG”) and I were the Reserve World Champions in the YA Halter Gelding 3 & 4 year-olds class at the Pinto World Championship® Show. The Color Breed Futurity will be held each year in conjunction with the Color Breed Congress® Show. Eligibility To be eligible to participate in the Color Breed Futurity, a horse/long ear must be sired by a stallion/jack who has been nominated into the Color Breed Futurity the year prior to its foaling year. If eligible, horses/long ears may be enrolled at any time beginning as weanlings through their 3 year old year. Weanling enrollment begins at one time payment of $50 and increases with the age of the animal. Membership To be eligible to participate in the Color Breed Futurity all stallion/jack owners must be current PtHA® members. All owners and exhibitors of the foals nominated must be current PtHA members. Exhibitors in

Amateur Color Breed Futurity classes must have a PtHA® Amateur card. Classes Offered The Color Breed Futurity classes will be offered in conjunction with the Color Breed Congress Show in November. Foals entered in a Color Breed Futurity class will have to be registered according to their breeding and enter the corresponding class during the Color Breed Congress. Futurity classes will be $100 per class, plus the cost of the corresponding class at the Color Breed Congress. If foal is not eligible for a corresponding class at Color Breed Congress, it must be registered with PtHA® in the Solid division.
