Contact a Family in partnership with Valley School are holding a welcoming and informative session for parents who care for a child with a disability or medical condition. Contact a Family is a National charity that offers advice, support and information to parents who care for a child with any type of disability or medical condition …we support over 340,000 families each year. Parents are invited to the information session on Friday 5th July 2013 at Valley School Whitehaven Road, Bramhall Stockport, SK7 1EN at 9.30 until 11.30am This session is an introduction to ‘Contact a Family’, to find out who we are, what we do and how we help and support families. Newsletter July 2013 Signpost Stockport for Carers is an independent, local charity and network partner of Carers Trust. We provide a range of services to support and enhance the lives of unpaid carers of all ages throughout Stockport. Attached is a Carer Registration Form. Don’t forget our Let Loose soft play and sensory room session – Monday’s in term time 4-6pm. All children with additional needs and their siblings welcome. The centre is closed to the general public. We had a visitor last week, Andy Simpkins, Head of Special Education and Inclusion for Stockport Council came along to see everyone. £3.50 just to play. £5.50 to play and a meal. CADS at Seashell Trust are starting a Saturday Club from 13th July, every week from 10am12pm. £2.50 per child, age 5 and upwards. For children with and without a disability. It’s a drop in session, so no need to book or pay in advance. It will include a café run by Seashell Trust Students, Arts and Crafts, Games including Wii Games and a structured sports session from 10.30-11.30 for those who want to join in. The theme is ‘Thinking Local, Acting Personal’. A day for parents and carers of children and young people up to 25 in Stockport with disabilities and additional needs as well as professionals.
