The Taoiseach nominates the other members of the government and assigns the department of states to them. It is where the senators work. There are 60 senators in all and they work alongside the Dail in developing the country’s laws. As the senators are not elected or voted in by the people, it is the work of the Taoiseach and other special groups to choose the members of the Seanad. Eleven are
