Originally before the revolution during the Baptistia dictatorship by architect Aquiles Capablanca in 1953 after the revolution this government building has slowly became Ernesto Che Geuvera’s monument in relation to viod of the plaza.

A large image of revolutionary fighter Camilo Cienfuegos has gone up on a wall of the Ministry of Communications in Havana, near the equally large image of Ernesto Che Guevara that overlooks Revolution Square. It is the work of artist Enrique Ávila, who also authored the Guevara portrait.

The library, which houses Cuba’s patrimony, was moved into its current building in 1958, and it has the modern style of that period. Undoubtedly a major reason for its move away from Habana Vieja is the fact that whenever there is a major storm, the parts of city closest to the ocean are inundated.

the 109 m (358 ft) tower, designed by a team of architects led by Enrique Luis Varela, is in the form of a five-pointed star, encased in grey Cuban marble from the Isla de la Juventud. facing over the plaza and towards the mural of Che Guevara on the Ministry of the Interior on the opposite side of the square, is an 18 m (59 ft) white marble statue of Martí carved in situ by Sicre and surrounded by six half-height marble columns. The platform where the statue is located is used as a podium when rallies take place in the Plaza de la Revolución

The Porticos on the street level follow the trend of the sidewalk creating to parallel path ways. the inner path refuges to the arms of the buildings, creating potentials to hide from the open street though still maintaining the view of the street.
