WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO BECOME A PITTSBURGH PENGUINS SEASON TICKET HOLDER? My brother bought a single seat about 12 years ago and then had to move away. I have always been a big Penguins fan, so I jumped at the opportunity to take over his season ticket. WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE ALL-TIME PITTSBURGH PENGUINS PLAYER? Ron Francis and Mario Lemieux WHAT CURRENT PLAYER OR TEAM IS YOUR FAVORITE PENGUINS OPPONENT? WHY? Currently I really love to watch the Blackhawks and the Islanders play the Penguins. I think both clubs are a good match up against the Penguins. Both the Islanders and the Blackhawks have young, exciting players, much like we do, so it makes for an interesting game. DO YOU HAVE ANY UNIQUE PRE OR POST-GAME RITUALS WHEN ATTENDING A PITTSBURGH PENGUINS GAME? No, Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;m not a very superstitious person. However, my drive to the game is about an hour, so making that drive by myself gives me time to listen to 105.9 and ready myself for the game. The Penguins and Florida Panthers meet here tonight for the first time this season to begin a home-andhome series that ends Monday in Florida. This is just the second home-and-home series ever between the teams, as the Penguins swept the first by winning here on Jan. 5, 2008 (3-0) and then winning in Florida on Jan. 8, 2008 (3-1). . . Pittsburgh lost the series last season, going 1-2-0 against the Panthers and suffering both losses by three or more goals. . . Florida has won three of the last five games between the teams. . . Over the last nine games between the teams, the Panthers are 4-0 when they score at least two goals; they scored exactly one goal in each of their last five losses to Pittsburgh. . . Jonathan Huberdeau and Tomas Fleischmann led all Florida scorers with four points against the Penguins last season, while Evgeni Malkin led the Penguins with six points (2+4). . . The Panthers have scored first in five of their last seven games against Pittsburgh. . . The Penguinsâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; power play has come up empty in nine of their last 13 games against Florida (4-for-39, 10.2 percent). . . After Mondayâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s game in Florida, the teams will next meet here on Feb. 22 in the final game of the season in the series. . . Malkin has seven goals and 26 points in 25 career games against the Panthers, while Sidney Crosby has 13 goals and 29 points in 26 career games against Florida. . . Pittsburgh is 41-31-4-3 all-time against the Panthers, including 23-12-3-1 here at home.

THE PENGUINS

This is the final game of a three-game homestand for the Penguins that started Monday against Tampa Bay and continued on Thursday against Colorado. Pittsburgh plays in Tampa Bay on Tuesday before returning home to face Washington on Dec. 27. . . Pittsburgh was third in the NHLâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s overall standings and first in the Eastern Conference before hosting Tampa Bay last Monday. The Penguins needed a victory in that game against the Lightning to match the team record for points after 30 games (44). . . Malkin began the week third in NHL scoring, just two points behind leader Tyler Seguin of Dallas. Crosby was fourth at that continued on page 13

point, just three points behind Seguin. . . Forwards Bryan Rust and Bobby Farnham made their NHL debuts in the Penguinsâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; 4-3 shootout loss in Columbus on Dec. 13. . . Kris Letang scored a shootout goal in that game, his first since Nov. 5, 2011 at Los Angeles. He led all NHL defensemen in shootout goals at that point with 17. . . Letang was on a roll at that point, with points in five straight games (4+4) and goals in each of his last three games â&#x20AC;&#x201D; his longest such streak in the NHL. . . Blake Comeau scored his 10th goal of the season against the Blue Jackets and was on pace to produce 29 goals this season, which would be a career high. Nine of those 10 goals had come on home ice at that point. . . Rob Klinkhammer, acquired from Phoenix earlier this month, had points in two straight games before facing the Lightning. . . The Penguins were hoping to reach their 350th consecutive sellout in the Dec. 15 game against Tampa Bay. That would have been the 297th straight regular-season sellout. . . Crosby was hoping to return to the Pittsburgh lineup Thursday against Colorado after being diagnosed with the mumps and missing the three previous games. . . The Pittsburgh penalty killers had stopped 23 of the last 25 opposing power plays over six games as this week began (92.0 percent), helping the Penguins reach No. 4 in the NHL at 86.5 percent. . . Beginning with this three-game homestand, the Penguins were set to play eight of 11 games here at CONSOL Energy Center.

An NHL regular season is always first and foremost about points earned, but it’s also about lessons learned. For teams anticipating an extended postseason run, the regular season has to be about information obtained and experiences gained that will be of great value once the playoffs commence as much as it’s about the standings in November, December and January. “You can only hope,” former Penguins winger and current Penguins radio analyst Phil Bourque observed. “That’s the way it’s supposed to play out, that when you have hurdles during the regular season you’re able to jump over them as a team and do it the right way and not just do it with straight talent. Do it with character and do it with heart and do it with perseverance and the details of the game. “All those little intangible things are supposed to pay dividends come April, come May and, hopefully, into June.” The Penguins have been tested in a number of instances and reacted to a number of situations already that ought to prepare them well for what they’ll experience this spring. The Penguins trailed 2-1 entering the third period and fell behind 3-1 before rallying for a pair of goals in the final five minutes to force overtime. “We stuck with things,” captain Sidney Crosby assessed. “It wasn’t easy, so good job by everyone just to stick with it and get ourselves into overtime, get a point. “You can’t give up. result you want but you have to be able to look in the mirror.” Added head coach Mike Johnston: “It was nice to see that we had that type of push. We haven’t had situations where we’re down by a couple goals and have to really respond and rally late.” Now, they have. Another game that ought to prove beneficial in the playoffs for having played it in the regular season was the Penguins’ 1-0 victory over the Devils on Dec. 2, a game that was scoreless through two periods. “We talked to our team before the game, it might be one of those games where we might just have to will it out in the third period,” Johnston said. “And it was one of those games. It just turned out that’s the way the script was written. “We hung in there with it. We stuck with it. We guarded against frustration for the most part and I thought we did a real good job in a real tough game.” Sets of home-and-home, back-to-back games such as the ones the Penguins had scheduled on Nov. 21-22 against the New York Islanders, on Nov. 28-29 against the Carolina Hurricanes and on Dec. 20-22 against the Florida Panthers are also perfect postseason dress rehearsals. “I think any time you have a back-to-back series it’s like the playoffs,” Johnston said. “It’s the only thing during the season that’s really going to simulate the playoffs. You have a team one night; we’re both going to make adjustments for tomorrow night so you have to react to those adjustments. “How the team adjusts, how the coaching staff adjusts in those two games is important, so I treat them like a series. And they’re as important to eventual post-season success, potentially, as the goals-against average and the power play’s success rate. Bourque, a two-time Stanley Cup winner as a player, certainly won’t underrate them in terms of what they mean in the grand scheme of things. “You can only hope coming back in games like they did against the New York Rangers [on Dec. 8] pays off,” he said. “The comeback against the New Jersey Devils [from 3-1 down to an 8-3 victory on Oct. 28], even a bounce-back game after losing to Philadelphia [5-3 on Oct. 22] and Detroit [4-3 in overtime on Oct. 23] and then beating Nashville in its home barn [3-0 on Oct. 25], all of those little asterisks you put next to certain games in the regular season are supposed to pay dividends in the springtime.”

Mario Lemieux, one of the most respected figures in National Hockey League history, is in his 16th season as co-owner and chairman of the board of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Under the leadership of Lemieux and co-owner Ron Burkle, the Penguins have become one of the premier franchises in the NHL and in all of sports, leading the way in fan relations, youth marketing, community outreach and innovative technology while consistently putting a winning product on the ice — including eight straight playoff appearances, three conference finals appearances in the past seven years and a Stanley Cup championship in 2009. Known as Le Magnifique, Lemieux was one of the greatest players in NHL history from 1984-97 and 2000-06, winning six league scoring titles, three MVP awards and two Conn Smythe Trophies in addition to two Stanley Cups. A gifted 6-foot-4 centerman, he dominated play for parts of three decades despite a relentless series of medical setbacks, including multiple back surgeries and a battle with Hodgkin’s disease. He retired in 2006 as the No. 7 all-time scorer in NHL history with 1,723 points. He also ranked eighth all-time in goals (690) and 10th in assists (1,033). After retiring as a player in 1997, he put together an ownership group to buy the Penguins out of bankruptcy in September, 1999 and then returned to the ice on Dec. 27, 2000 — becoming the first player-owner of the modern era. In addition to his legendary hockey accomplishments, he continues to oversee the Mario Lemieux Foundation for cancer research and neo-natal research and hosts its annual golf tournament, which has raised more than $9 million for charity. Ron Burkle, one of the preeminent investors in technology, retail, manufacturing and distribution industries, is in his 16th season as co-owner of the Penguins. He teamed with Mario Lemieux to buy the team out of bankruptcy in September, 1999, and together they have become one of the outstanding ownership tandems in professional sports. Among Burkle’s many significant contributions to the Penguins was his essential role in negotiations for a new arena. In 2012-13, the Penguins’ rating of 12.66 was the highest achieved by any U.S.-based NHL, NBA or MLB team on a regional sports network since 2002. Keeping with that trend, the Penguins rank among the NHL leaders in website traffic and Twitter followers while continually setting new standards for merchandise sales. Jim Rutherford is in his first season as the Penguins GM after being hired on June 6, 2014. Rutherford spent the previous 20 years as GM of the Carolina Hurricanes/Hartford Whalers franchise from 1994-2014 where he was a key architect of the Hurricanes’ 2006 Stanley Cup championship squad and their 2002 Stanley Cup finalist team. In addition to his general manager duties, he also served 20 years as president of Carolina/Hartford, taking the post in 1994. In his role as president/GM, Rutherford oversaw operations on both the hockey and business sides of the organization. He helped spearhead the efforts to bring the 2004 NHL Draft and 2011 NHL All-Star Game to Raleigh. Over the course of his executive career, Rutherford has won multiple awards, including The Hockey News ‘Executive of the Year’ in 2002 and ’06. Additionally, he was voted by his NHL general management peers as Sporting News ‘Executive of the Year’ in 2006. Before his 20 years in the NHL, Rutherford was recognized as the 1987 Canadian Hockey League (CHL) ‘Executive of the Year’, and the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) ‘Executive of the Year’ in back-to-back years with the Windsor Spitfires in 1987 and ’88. He oversaw a Spitfires team that won the OHL championship in 1988 and earned a berth in the Memorial Cup. In addition to his time with Hartford/Carolina, Rutherford also spent over 30 years working with Compuware Sports Corporation, overseeing the purchase of Windsor in 1984 and bringing the first American-based OHL franchise to Detroit in 1989. Rutherford played 13 years as a goaltender in the NHL, appearing in 457 career NHL games with Pittsburgh, Toronto, Los Angeles and Detroit. JASON BOTTERILL ASSOCIATE GENERAL MANAGER

Jason Botterill is in his first season as associate general manager after being promoted from assistant general manager on June 6, 2014. As associate GM, Botterill assists GM Jim Rutherford on all hockey-related matters, including scouting, player development and contract negotiations. He also serves as GM of the Penguins’ top minorleague affiliate, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL). The WBS Penguins have made the playoffs all five years he has overseen the team, including back-to-back berths in the Eastern Conference Final (2013 and ‘14). Prior to his promotion, Botterill, 38, spent the previous five years as the Penguins assistant GM from 2009-14, and the two years prior to that as the team’s director of hockey administration beginning in 2007-08 where he was a key architect of the Penguins’ 2009 Stanley Cup championship team. Before joining the Penguins, Botterill worked for NHL Central Registry and as a scout for the Dallas Stars. Botterill was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the first round (20th overall) in 1994 NHL Draft and played in 88 NHL games for Dallas, Atlanta, Calgary and Buffalo before his career was cut short due to injury. He also suited up for 393 career minorleague games in the American and International Hockey Leagues, tallying 257 career points. A native of Edmonton who grew up in Winnipeg, Botterill played four years of college hockey at the University of Michigan and helped lead the Wolverines to an NCAA title in 1996. Botterill represented Canada in three straight World Junior Championships from 1994-96, winning gold medals all three years. During the ’94 and ’95 WJCs, Botterill was coached by current Penguins head coach Mike Johnston. Following his playing career, he received his MBA from his alma mater, the University of Michigan.

TOM FITZGERALD ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

Tom Fitzgerald is in his first season as assistant general manager after spending the previous five seasons as the Penguins assistant to the GM from 2009-14. Fitzgerald’s duties include monitoring Penguins’ prospects playing in college, junior hockey, Europe and with the club’s American Hockey League affiliate Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Additionally, he advises GM Jim Rutherford on all personnel decisions. Fitzgerald was named interim assistant coach of the Penguins on Feb. 15, 2009 and helped the club win its third Stanley Cup championship four months later. He began his executive career as the Penguins player development coach in 2007-08. Drafted in the first round (17th overall) by the New York Islanders in the 1986 NHL Draft, Fitzgerald played 17 seasons in the NHL, appearing in 1,097 career games where he recorded 329 career points (139G-190A). He has represented his country nationally three times — once with Team USA at the 1987 World Junior Championship and twice in the World Championships (1989, ’91).

BILL GUERIN ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

Bill Guerin is in his first season as assistant general manager after serving as Pittsburgh’s player development coach from 2011-14. Guerin’s responsibilities as assistant general manager include serving as a liaison between the players and management. As the Penguins player development coach, Guerin was instrumental in helping develop the Penguins’ minor league, junior and college prospects. Originally drafted by New Jersey in the first round (5th overall) of the 1989 NHL Draft, Guerin won two Stanley Cups (Pittsburgh, 2009; New Jersey, 1995) and spent 18 seasons in the NHL — including his final two with the Penguins. Guerin’s leadership and on-ice performance after being acquired at the NHL trade deadline was a key in Pittsburgh’s ’09 title. Guerin, a four-time NHL All-Star, tallied 429 career goals and 856 points in 1,263 career NHL games, including five 30-goal and two 40-goal seasons. He was elected to the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in 2013.

MIKE JOHNSTON HEAD COACH

Mike Johnston is in his first season as head coach of the Penguins after being named to his position on June 25, 2014. Johnson had spent the past six years as the general manager/head coach of the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League (WHL) from 2008-13, where he helped turn Portland into a Canadian Hockey League powerhouse and perennial contender. Under Johnston’s guidance, Portland made four straight WHL Championship berths (2010-14), winning the WHL championship and earning a Memorial Cup berth in 2012-13. During that time his team won four straight conference championships. Johnston’s teams are known for their offensive prowess — during his six seasons with Portland, his team’s goals for total rose each year from 176 in 2008-09 to a league-leading 338 in ‘13-14. Johnston also served two NHL stints as assistant/associate coach of the Vancouver Canucks (1999-06) and associate coach of the Los Angeles Kings (2006-08). With Johnston’s help, Vancouver made four straight trips to the postseason and won the Northwest Division crown in 2003-04. He has represented his country multiple times internationally, including serving as assistant coach of Canada’s 1998 Olympic Team. As an assistant/associate coach for Team Canada, he has won five medals (2 gold; 2 silver; 1 bronze) at the World Championships and two gold medals at the World Junior Championships. Among the players he has coached with Canada are Jonathan Toews, Ryan Getzlaf, Chris Kunitz, Martin Brodeur, Jarome Iginla, Rob Blake and Martin St. Louis. Johnston has authored three books with former NHL player Ryan Walter: “Simply the Best: Insights and Strategies from Great Hockey Coaches”, “Simply the Best: Players on Performance” and “Hockey Plays and Strategies”. He played college hockey at Brandon University in Manitoba and Acadia University in Nova Scotia and has a Master’s Degree in coaching science from Acadia University. RICK TOCCHET ASSISTANT COACH

Rick Tocchet is in his first season as an assistant coach of the Penguins. Tocchet was hired as an assistant coach by Tampa Bay in July, 2008 and was elevated to interim head coach on Nov. 14 of that year. He was named head coach following the ‘08-09 season, where he remained in that position until 2010. Tocchet began his coaching career as an assistant with the Colorado Avalanche for two years (2002-04) before spending one season (‘05-06) with the Phoenix Coyotes. A veteran of 18 NHL seasons, including parts of three seasons with the Penguins from 1992-94, Tocchet won a Stanley Cup championship with Pittsburgh in 1992. The 4-time NHL All-Star (1989, ‘90, ‘91, ‘93) played 1,144 career NHL games and totaled 440 goals, 952 points and 2,972 penalty minutes in his NHL career. Tocchet was originally drafted by Philadelphia in the sixth round (125th overall) of the 1983 NHL Draft.

GARY AGNEW ASSISTANT COACH

Gary Agnew is in his first season as an assistant coach with the Penguins. Prior to joining Pittsburgh, Agnew was an assistant coach for the St. Louis Blues for two seasons from 2012-14, helping the Blues win the fifth-most games in the NHL during that span (81). Agnew spent four years as an assistant coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets from 2006-10, where he helped the Blue Jackets earn a postseason berth for the first time in franchise history in 2008-09. As head coach of the American Hockey League’s Syracuse Crunch from 2000-06, Agnew won a franchise-record 220 games, and he led Syracuse to its first-ever division title in 2001-02. He also has 14 years of coaching experience in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), including 11 as a head coach. He has won over 350 career OHL games with London (1989-94, ‘97-00), Kingston (1994-97) and Oshawa (2011-12). Agnew was named OHL Coach of the Year twice — in 1993 and ’98. MIKE BALES GOALTENDING COACH

Mike Bales is in his second season as the Penguins goaltending coach after serving the previous two seasons as the team’s goaltending development coach from 2011-13. Under his guidance, Marc-Andre Fleury won 39 games in 2013-14 and tied his career high by recording five shutouts. Bales was also key to Jeff Zatkoff’s development in his first NHL season where he posted a 12-6-2 record, 2.61 GAA and .912 save percentage. Bales, a native of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, spent 18 seasons playing professionally from 1992-2010, including stints in the NHL with Boston and Ottawa. Bales also saw action with teams in the AHL, IHL, Germany, Sweden and Northern Ireland. He was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the fifth round (105th overall) of the 1990 NHL Draft. Before turning pro, Bales played three collegiate seasons with Ohio State University of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) from 1989-92. Williams joined the Penguins in 2008 as Senior Vice President of Business Affairs/General Counsel and oversaw the construction and development of CONSOL Energy Center — bringing the project to completion on time and under budget. He is the organization’s liaison with building manager AEG Facilities and works closely with AEG on all arena-related events and initiatives. In recent years, CONSOL Energy Center has hosted such national events as the 2012 NCAA Men’s Basketball Second and Third Rounds, the 2012 NHL Draft, the 2013 NCAA Frozen Four and the 2014 U.S. Gymnastics Championships. Williams also is the Penguins’ point man on the development of the former Civic Arena site and the construction of the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry. Williams graduated from Penn State University and received a Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University, summa cum laude. He lives in Nevillewood with his wife, Nichole, and six children.

David Peart is in his fifth full season as Senior Vice President of Sales and Service, overseeing all local revenue generating departments for the team including business partnerships, corporate sales, premium seating, ticket sales, broadcasting, and concession and merchandise sales strategy. Under his direction, the Penguins created the team’s Founding Partner Program at CONSOL Energy Center and launched one of the most comprehensive fan engagement initiatives in sports. In 2014, Peart was awarded the InStadium Experience Innovation Award presented by Sports and Entertainment Alliance in Technology for his work with the Penguins’ PensPoints loyalty program. Peart has held senior-level positions with the San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, Dallas Stars and Texas Rangers. The Kennedy Township native is a graduate of Point Park University, where he is a member of the Board of Trustees. He and his wife, Julie, have two children.

POWER PLAY The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation and Highmark will KIDS WILL CHANGE THE FUTURE have completed five more dek hockey rinks for local communities in 2014 as their first-ofits-kind Project Power Play program enters its third year. The new rinks are located in Graham Park in Cranberry Township, Renzie Park in McKeesport, Settlerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Cabin in Oakdale, North Park in Allison Park and Bloomfield Park in Pittsburgh. Project Power Play is a $2.3 million initiative designed to build 12 dek hockey rinks in Pittsburgh and surrounding communities over a four-year period. Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield is leading the way by providing $1.5 million in funding, with the Penguins Foundation contributing $800,000. The rinks are multi-purpose courts measuring 155 feet by 75 feet. They include a premier dasher board system, scoreboard, player benches covered by metal shelters, a penalty box, goals and start-up dek hockey equipment. Project Power Play was introduced in 2012, with the first two rinks being built in Banksville Park and Lewis Park in Hazelwood. Four more rinks were added in 2013 at Brookline Memorial Park, Hosanna House Sherwood Event Center in Wilkinsburg, Riverside Park in Oakmont and Richland Community Park. The City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County and surrounding communities are providing the land as well as maintenance services, lighting and additional support. One more rink will be built in 2015, bringing the total to 12.

PENGUINS RADIO NETWORK PLAY-BY-PLAY ANNOUNCER

One of the most unique broadcasters in professional sports, Mike Lange is calling games in his 40th season with the Penguins, handling radio play-by-play on the club’s flagship station, 105.9 FM The X and the Penguins Radio Network. Known for his creative and colorful style, including trademark phrases such as “Buy Sam A Drink And Get His Dog One, Too,” Lange was awarded the Foster Hewitt award by the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2001. Lange’s relationship with the Penguins began in 1974-75, when he broke into the NHL as a radio play-by-play man. He left for one season, but returned in 1976-77 and has been a fixture on the Penguins’ scene ever since. Lange did radio exclusively until 1979, when games were simulcast on radio and TV. He served as the television voice of the Penguins through 2005-06, before returning to the radio booth in 2006-07. A native of Sacramento, California, Lange earned a degree in broadcasting from Sacramento State University before starting his career as the voice of the Phoenix Roadrunners (WHL) in 1970. He also served as the play-by-play voice of the San Diego Gulls (WHL) in 1973-74 before joining the Penguins. In addition to his tenure with the Penguins, Lange handled play-by-play duties for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1986-87. A well-known member of the Pittsburgh community, Lange makes numerous personal appearances throughout the year and is actively involved in charity work.

Two-time Stanley Cup Champion Phil Bourque is in his 12th season on the Penguins broadcast team, serving as color commentator alongside Mike Lange. A gritty winger/defenseman, Bourque was signed by Pittsburgh as a free agent in 1982, and went on to record 164 points (75G-89A) in 344 regular-season games with the Penguins between 1983 and 1992. For his career he totaled 199 points (88G-111A) in 477 games with the Penguins, New York Rangers and Ottawa. Since retiring from professional hockey in 2000, Bourque has cohosted Penguins pre- and post-game shows on the Penguins Radio Network and worked as a contributor for ROOT SPORTS’ coverage of Penguins hockey.

Grove wrote Pittsburgh Penguins: The Official History of the First 30 Years in 1997 and has contributed game notes to GOAL Magazine inserts or IceTime programs for every Pittsburgh home game since 1986. He was also a contributor to the second edition of Total Hockey and to The Game I’ll Never Forget. He is a senior writer covering hockey for the Pittsburgh Sports Report and also hosts Bob Grove’s Hot Stove on Penguins Radio 24/7.

Steve Kolbe enters his second season with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Kolbe spent 14 seasons (1997-2011) as the play-by-play broadcaster for the Washington Capitals, broadcasting over 1100 games. Kolbe broadcast the Stanley Cup Finals in 1998 and the NHL Winter Classic in 2011, and he was featured on the NHL Network’s documentary Voices in 2008. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Kolbe has over 25 years of broadcasting experience, and most recently has been a co-host of the Mid-Atlantic Sports Report on MASN (Mid Atlantic Sports Network) as well as talk show host for Major League Baseball coverage and NHL insider on CBS Radio 105.7 in Baltimore. Kolbe is a 1989 graduate of Michigan State University and earned a B.A. in telecommunications.

The New Year will bring the Maroon 5 World Tour 2015 and the Second and Third Rounds of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship to CONSOL Energy Center. The Pittsburgh arena’s reputation for hosting major sporting events will continue. The Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Basketball Championship will be contested in CONSOL Energy Center in 2017, the A-10 announced in September. Bernadette V. McGlade, A-10 Commissioner, says, “The opportunity to rotate our championship within the A-10 footprint is exciting. She adds that CONSOL Energy Center is a state-of-the-art venue with great fan amenities and a successful history of hosting NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship events. In addition to sporting events, well over 300 performances took place at CONSOL Energy Center in its first four Paul McCartney years of operation. Leading the eclectic parade of entertainers performing for CONSOL Energy Center audiences, Paul McCartney, the inaugural act on August 18, 2010, sold out his first show so quickly that a second performance was added for the next night. After winning five Grammy Awards earlier this year, McCartney came back to CONSOL Energy Center in July with his universally acclaimed “Out There” tour and played for another sold-out crowd. In his most recent appearance, McCartney sang and played his way through his ambitious set list and two encores, performing some 40 songs with dedications to his wife, Nancy, his late wife, Linda, the civil rights demonstrators of the ‘60s, his dad and Ringo Starr for their birthdays that coincided with the concert, as well as John Lennon and George Harrison. NHL YOUTH CUP RECAP By: Joey Sykes

After finishing strong at the second annual NHL Youth Cup Tournament presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods, the Penguins Elite proved why they are one of the premier youth hockey organizations not only here in Pittsburgh, but also across the country. The 2004 Penguins Elite grouping stole the show Sunday afternoon at Robert Morris University’s Island Sports Center after dominating their age grouping in the tournament. They beat Philadelphia’s Team Comcast in the finals, 8-2, to take home the championship for the second straight year. Head coach Ray Conway and assistant coach Jeff Hannan backed the team to their victory. “We’re fortunate with what we have in the coaching staff throughout the organization,” Hannan said. “We’re fortunate enough that the parents can afford to do this because it is expensive and it’s a lot of hard work that a lot of people don’t see. “It’s our second year in a row winning it, so we had some new kids this year that got to experience it for the first time, which is really neat.” Rick Boysen, father of Penguins Elite player Ryan Boysen, agrees with Hannan. “The Penguins Elite is a great organization and they develop the kids well, but they remember the fundamentals of having fun continued on page 89

at all levels,” Boysen said. “It’s great for these kids to get together to bond as well and travel around the country.” The NHL Youth Cup featured eight AAA NHLaffiliated youth teams across six age divisions, including the Penguins Elite. Pittsburgh hosted one event for each major birth year (2000, ’02, ’04) for the tournament, while Philadelphia hosted one event from each minor birth year (2001, ’03, ’05). In addition to the Penguins Elite, the tournament played host to Team Comcast, the Buffalo Jr. Sabres, the Mid Fairfield Rangers, the Suffolk P.A.L. Islanders and the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes, as well as the Nashville Jr. Predators and Washington Little Caps, who are new to the event. “It was good,” Hannan said about the tournament. “We put a lot of hard work into it. Bringing in all these NHL clubs was great. It’s good to see the kids’ hard work pay off.” Scott Sroka, whose son Owen plays on the 2004 team, enjoyed seeing his boy have success again in this tournament and attributes their success to the coaching staff. “It’s great,” Sroka said. “We were in Philadelphia last year and we won that year and we won again this year, so it’s a great opportunity to showcase the sport and the elite level teams with the NHL Youth Cup. “The kids worked really hard this year and overcame some great obstacles and won again this year. They worked harder than ever and had great coaching.” The tournament was a big success and entertaining for all involved, and the players and their families even received a special treat after the event concluded. Lord Stanley’s Cup made an appearance in the lobby of the Island’s Sports Center, where people gathered around to snap photos with the Cup and gaze at the names of champions. “That’s really cool for them,” Hannan said. “Especially since a lot of those kids see it on T.V. and have seen the Penguins win it in the past. To see it first hand is really cool for them.”

In 2014, the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation and UPMC Sports Medicine expanded the Heads UP Pittsburgh concussion awareness program to include a free flexibility kit to the first 2,000 participants in the new testing period that began on June 16. KIDS WILL CHANGE THE FUTURE Free cognitive baseline testing was available on a first-come, first-served basis for athletes ages 10-14. For athletes under 10 years of age, a Pediatric version of the test was available at a minimal cost. Community College of Allegheny County once again served as host to testing at its Boyce, North, South and West Hills Center campuses along with UPMC Center for Sports Medicine on the South Side. Community College of Beaver County joined the initiative as a new site for testing and education. The entire testing process takes about one hour. Certified athletic trainers from UPMC Sports Medicine supervise the program and testing. While the athletes are being tested, parents meet with the UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion staff to learn about the Heads UP Pittsburgh program and how to handle concussions if they occur. Heads UP Pittsburgh, the first program of its kind and a blueprint copied by other NHL organizations, began in 2011 with baseline testing and parental education programs for youth hockey players. In 2012, the Penguins Foundation expanded the program to include athletes of all sports ages 10 to 14. Since the programâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s inception, over 13,000 athletes have been tested and over 33,000 people educated. HOCKEY IS FOR

EVERYONE For years Western Pennsylvania youth sports have been dominated by the likes of football, basketball and baseball. Recently however, the region has begun to see a change in preference and participation in sports. Hockey is rapidly becoming the most popular and fastest growing sport in the area. Success seen with the Pittsburgh Penguins on the NHL ice has surely created a demand and a certain excitement around the game, however the popularity of hockey goes well beyond the wins and world class talent the Penguins possess. A genuine love for the game is starting to sweep the area. Kids are beginning to play hockey at younger and younger ages thanks to the Little Penguins: Learn to Play Hockey program. This program will allow 1,000 kids, ages 4-8, to receive free head-to-toe gear all thanks to the support of Sidney Crosby, Reebok and DICKâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;S Sporting Goods. Since it began in 2008-09 over 5,200 have been introduced to hockey through this program. The Penguins have also teamed up with the DICKâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;S Sporting Goods, Trib Total Media and the YMCA to create the YMCA Jr. Penguins program which introduces children to the sport through ball hockey. Each year, over 3,100 children participate in organized ball hockey at local YMCAs. Recently the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation and Highmark have partnered together for Project PowerPlay, which will build 12 dek hockey rinks throughout Allegheny County over a threeyear period and allow local residents to play dek hockey for free. Dek hockey is becoming a great way to learn and play hockey without having ice, and was also vital in the development of current Penguins forward Beau Bennett who grew up in sunny California. continued on page 129

In 2014, the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation embarked on a new venture, Tablets in Education. This innovative, new program combined the latest in tablet technology with educational apps and content. With the assistance of the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU3), 60 schools in Allegheny County were selected to participate in the first year of the program; distributing 1,200 Kindle Fire HDX 7 tablets to local schools. Each school enrolled in Tablets in Education received 20 Kindle Fire HDX 7 tablets, a mobile charging station and 20 shock resistant covers. Each device was then loaded with over 50 educational apps, books and specialized content. These apps were carefully selected with the assistance of Common Sense Media and the professionals at the AIU3, providing more than $100,000 worth of content. The devices are designed to be utilized for unique educational programs, extended learning programs and programs for children with disabilities. The technology utilized in Tablets in Education is designed to enhance a childâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s academic achievement while continuing to support their social development and relationships with adults and peers through the most critical years of an adolescentâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s growth and development. A portion of the funding for this new program was made possible by contributions through the EITC (Educational Improvement Tax Credit) program. ICEBURGH A delight for children of all ages, Iceburgh — the official mascot of the Pittsburgh Penguins not only provides fans with exciting game entertainment but this large, energetic bird can also be seen at a multitude of community events and elementary schools throughout the greater Pittsburgh area. Iceburgh arrived on the scene in 1992 and is a staple at all team events. During Penguins’ home games, fans most definitely notice the antics of Iceburgh leading sections of fans in cheers, greeting young children on the concourse or displaying his athleticism on-ice between periods. In 1995, Iceburgh made his Hollywood debut, starring alongside Jean Claude Van Damme in the motion picture Sudden Death. He has gained both national and international exposure through film, TV and a variety of personal appearances. Iceburgh wasted no time getting acquainted with his new home at CONSOL Energy Center in September of 2010. You can find Iceburgh sliding down stair banisters, dancing in the stands and tossing t-shirts to fans. Iceburgh has performed in Russia and Japan, was featured in the opening of ESPN’s SportsCenter and recently performed in front of a record crowd of over 68,000 at Heinz Field for the 2011 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic. He is also regularly featured on in-game videos and has appeared in advertisements and television promos on ROOT Sports. In addition to his annual trek to the NHL All-Star Game, Iceburgh makes annual appearances at the Mascot Olympics held in Orlando, FL. Now in its third season, Pittsburgh Penguins Elite is one of the country’s premier youth hockey organizations. A joint effort of the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins and corporate partner DICK’S Sporting Goods, Penguins Elite offers a comprehensive program for player development and includes 14 teams in various age group — nine boys’ teams and five girls’ teams. The program features an outstanding coaching staff, professional management, world-class training facilities and access to elite-level competition — along with proven academic and career guidance.

In 2014-15, Penguins Elite boys’ teams will range from Squirt Minor through Midget Major, including a U15 team. Girls teams will be offered at 19&U, 16&U, 14&U, 12&U and 10&U age groups. The funding provided by DICK’S Sporting Goods and the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation has reduced player participation fees by nearly 35% annually. In addition, DICK’S Sporting Goods provides FREE game jerseys and socks, practice jerseys and socks, pant shells, warmups and equipment bags to players each season. Players and parents also receive discounts on equipment and team-branded apparel purchased through DICK’S Sporting Goods. The NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins provide unique opportunities for PPE players, including practicing at CONSOL Energy Center, participating in the Icebreaker and NHL Youth Cup Tournaments and having the opportunity to attend select games and special events. Many are programs affiliated with NHL teams, including the Ohio Junior Blue Jackets, Dallas Junior Stars, the Phoenix Junior Coyotes and the Los Angeles Junior Kings, among others. With significant visibility, top-level talent, and elite coaching, the Tier 1 Elite League provides young, talented players with the opportunity to advance their careers to Tier 1 Jr. Hockey, U.S. National Teams, NCAA hockey, the NHL and other professional leagues. Forward • 1st Round, 22nd Overall Kapanen, the son of former NHL player Sami Kapanen, was the No. 1-ranked European prospect entering the 2014 NHL Draft by Central Registry. During the 2013-14 season, he played professionally for KalPa of the Finnish Elite League where he and Sami were teammates. Beyond the Numbers: Both Kasperi and his father were selected in the NHL Draft by current Penguins GM Jim Rutherford. Sami Kapanen was chosen in the fourth round (87th overall) in the 1995 Draft.

Forward • 4th Round, 113th Overall A native of Hollidaysburg, Pa., which is located just outside of Altoona, Lafferty played amateur hockey for the Altoona Trackers of the Pittsburgh Amateur Hockey League (PAHL). A graduate of Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts, Lafferty is currently playing college hockey at Brown University. Hockey is all about time and space. You can never have too much of either. But occasionally it can seem that way. The Penguins and Ottawa were tied 2-2 at CONSOL Energy Center on Dec. 6. There were under two minutes to play in regulation. The Penguins were in the Senators’ end. Sidney Crosby made a cross-rink backhand pass and found Christian Ehrhoff alone at the top of the right circle. As in, ALONE. Desolate. Solitary. Acres of space. No Senator was close. “That doesn’t happen too often,” Ehrhoff said, smiling. “I was definitely surprised. Obviously, it was a nice pass by Sid.” Ehrhoff skated to the dot, then unloaded a cannon over the glove of Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson. Zero chance for a save. Penguins win, 3-2. Ehrhoff, 32, joined the Penguins via free agency during the off-season. He played for Buffalo last season. Last-place Buffalo. Ehrhoff spent three seasons with the Sabres. The German defenseman’s salad days in Pittsburgh were a bit tentative. But Ehrhoff really started adjusting come mid-November and started to sparkle after that. continued on page 162

Ehrhoff had two goals and seven assists in his first 28 games as a Penguin. His plus-14 mark led the team. When asked when he started to truly feel comfortable with the Penguins, Ehrhoff said, “The last few weeks, maybe since the Rangers game [Nov. 11, a 5-0 loss at New York’s Madison Square Garden]. That was kind of a bad effort in New York, but we came back stronger. I felt my game pick up after that, too.” Was the adjustment harder because Ehrhoff went from a losing team to a winning team? “I think so, a little bit,” said the 6-foot-2, 196-pounder. “Playing [at Buffalo] last year was very frustrating. So it definitely took a little while to adjust here. It’s a different way than we played there last year. “But the guys have been great. We’re improving as a team, and that’s the main thing for me.” Ehrhoff’s game-winning goal against Ottawa was a combination of power and art. Ehrhoff got all of his shot, and the placement was sublime. “It’s a good feeling, a couple minutes before the end of the game, to get the go-ahead goal,” Ehrhoff said. “They missed me in the coverage, and I had lots of time. I picked a corner, and it went right where I wanted it to.” When a player has that much time and space, he can overthink his options. “Not that time,” Ehrhoff said. “Usually, when you have that much time, you think too much. But I knew where I wanted to put it.” Anderson called Ehrhoff’s blast “the perfect shot.” “You could probably give him five or six more of those shots, and I don’t know if he hits that spot every time,” Anderson said. “Maybe he does, I don’t know. You have to tip your hat to the guy sometimes for making a perfect shot.” The Penguins got 33 shots on goal vs. Ottawa, after getting just 22 and 23 in their two prior games. “As a team, we wanted to get more pucks to the net,” Ehrhoff said. “Last game [a 3-0 home loss to Vancouver], we didn’t get enough shots. Usually, that shows on the scoreboard. Today, we got lots of pucks at the net and created some chances off rebounds.” Mark Madden hosts a radio show 3-6 p.m. weekdays on WXDX-FM (105.9).

CONTINUING TO GROW By: Joey Sykes

For many hockey players, one of the hardest parts of breaking into the NHL is getting a foot in the door. And even if you do find your footing, it can be just as tough trying to keep it. Penguins defenseman Robert Bortuzzo has had his foot in the proverbial door for some time now, and is doing everything in his power to keep it from closing. Bortuzzo, 25, is in his sixth year with the Penguins organization after turning pro for the 2009-10 season, and has slowly been finding his niche within the club’s starting roster. This season, the Thunder Bay native has been in and out of the lineup for a number of different reasons, but that has been keeping him hungrier than ever. “It’s been a process [staying in the NHL],” Bortuzzo said. “I’m fortunate to have good coaches and players around me to help me develop. It’s something I’m continuing to work on, getting more ice time, contributing as much as possible. You never want to stop growing as a player and fortunately I’m in a good position to do that here.”

One way Bortuzzo pushes himself to get better is by using valuable practice time to his advantage. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound blueliner is almost always one of the first players out on the ice on practice day or before a morning skate. Fellow defenseman Rob Scuderi has come to appreciate that drive he sees in his teammate. “Sometimes when that’s your role, you have to do those things, but he goes on and volunteers,” Scuderi said. “He does the shots before practice to warm up the goalies and he’ll stay after if the goalies need work. That’s just the type of teammate he is.” Bortuzzo is thankful to have mentors like Scuderi playing alongside him. It gives the Penguins’ 2007 third-round draft pick a chance to pick up some pointers. “[Scuderi] is definitely a guy who I can bounce some things off of,” Bortuzzo said. “[Paul Martin] is another guy. If I have questions about plays, even things like just being a professional, those are two great guys to look to.” Another valuable characteristic that Bortuzzo’s teammates have come to enjoy is his locker room persona. “I’ve known [Bortuzzo] since we came into professional hockey,” forward Zach Sill said. “He’s a really funny guy. He’s got a dry sense of humor and he keeps things light around the room and he’s a great player too.” Head coach Mike Johnston agrees. “There are certain guys called glue guys on the team and he’s one of those guys,” Johnston said. “He helps galvanize the team. He’s a great chemistry guy. He plays with emotion. Guys really continued on page 177

respect players like that and he has that type of respect in this group.” To Bortuzzo, being that type of guy in the room is something that is second nature. “I do what I can in the locker room to be a good character guy,” Bortuzzo said. “It’s not hard when you have a great group of guys here and they make it really easy to come to the rink and have fun everyday.” Bortuzzo’s drive and determination to get better along with his personality are all important factors for his success. He believes these are the keys for him to accomplishing his personal goals. “I want to step into a top-four role and be a high-end penalty kill guy who’s physical and who can play some high-end minutes against some high-end skill,” Bortuzzo said. “That’s all part of the process of growing, and that’s what I hope to do here.”

If you build it, they will come. With the construction of the new dek hockey rink at Settler’s Cabin Park in Robinson Township completed, members of the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield truly believe those words will come true. KIDS WILL CHANGE THE FUTURE The two organizations, alongside Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, gathered in front of the new arena on Wednesday, Dec. 3 to preside over a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate its construction. The rink, which was completed in October, is just one of ten that were constructed as part of the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation’s Project Power Play initiative. Project Power Play is a $2.3 million initiative funded by both the Penguins Foundation and Highmark in order to build 12 dek hockey rinks in Pittsburgh and neighboring areas over a four-year period. So far, 10 of 12 rinks have been built, with the final two scheduled to be completed in 2015. Each dek hockey rink features state-of-the-art multi-sport courts as well as premier, NHL-quality dasher board systems and scoreboards. They also include player benches with shelter, penalty box and scorer’s table. Highmark’s Executive Vice President Dan Onorato loves the idea of Project Power Play and how it urges kids to be active, especially during the winter months. “To be able to put money into a program that will touch different parks and hundreds, if not thousands, of kids to be outside in the winter, that’s healthy living,” Onorato said. “Highmark is trying to promote active living, getting outside, running around. This does that. To team up with the Penguins is an added bonus.” Penguins president and CEO David Morehouse and Penguins Foundation president Dave Soltesz were on hand to attend the ceremony. They both stated how thankful they were for the funds provided by Highmark as well as the benefits this rink will provide for the community. “It’s a great place for kids to get out and play hockey,” Morehouse said. “It’s also a great place for kids to get more physical activity, but our partnership with Highmark and the Penguins [Foundation] and the county with this particular dek rink, is tremendous and we look forward to building the next two.”

Dating back to the start of the 2013-14 season, only Penguins captain Sidney Crosby (45+94) had more points than Seguin (59+61) through Seguin’s first 28 games in 2014-15. GAME MISCONDUCT PENALTIES A new Game Misconduct category will be created. Clipping, charging, elbowing, interference, kneeing, head-butting and butt-ending move from the general category into the same category as boarding and checking from behind (Physical Fouls), whereby a player who incurs two such game misconducts in this category would now be automatically suspended for one game.

RULE 24

PENALTY SHOT The Spin-O-Rama move, as described in Section 24.2 of the 2013-14 NHL Rule Book, will no longer be permitted either in Penalty Shot situations or in the Shootout.

RULE 38

VIDEO GOAL JUDGE Video review will be expanded in the following areas: * Rule 38.4 (viii) has been modified to allow broader discretion to Hockey Operations to assist the referees in determining the legitimacy of all potential goals (e.g., to ensure they are good hockey goals). The revised Rule will allow Hockey Operations to correct a broader array of situations where video review clearly establishes that a goal or no goal call on the ice has been made in error. The new expanded rule will also allow Hockey Operations to provide guidance to referees on goal and potential goal plays where the continued on page 198

referee has blown his whistle (or intended to blow his whistle) after having lost sight of the puck. * In reviewing Kicked in Goals, Hockey Operations will require more demonstrable video evidence of a distinct kicking motion in order to overrule a goal call on the ice, or to uphold a no goal call on the ice.

RULE 57 TRIPPING

The rule relating to Tripping will be revised to specifically provide that a two minute minor penalty will be assessed when a defending player dives and trips an attacking player with his body/arm/shoulder, regardless of whether the defending player is able to make initial contact with the puck. But, in situations where a penalty shot might otherwise be appropriate, if the defending player dives and touches the puck first (before the trip), no penalty shot will be awarded. (In such cases, the resulting penalty will be limited to a two-minute minor penalty for tripping.)

RULE 76 FACE-OFFS

To curb delay tactics on face-offs after icing infractions, in situations where the defending team is guilty of a face-off violation, following an icing, the defending player who is initially lined up for the face-off will be given a warning, but will be required to remain in the circle to take the face-off. A second face-off violation by the defending team in such situation will result in a two minute minor bench penalty.

RULE 64

DIVING / EMBELLISHMENT The supplementary discipline penalties associated with Rule 64.3 (Diving/Embellishment) will be revised to bring attention to and more seriously penalize players (and teams) who repeatedly dive and embellish in an attempt to draw penalties. * Teams will switch ends prior to the start of overtime in the regular season. * The entire ice surface will undergo a dry scrape prior to the start of overtime in the regular season. * The procedure requiring the head coach to submit a list of the first three shooters in the shoot-out has been eliminated.

RULE 85

PUCK OUT OF BOUNDS There have been further rule changes made relating to face-off location to avoid penalizing teams for plays intended to create bona fide scoring opportunities. Specifically, the following are categories of plays where face-offs will remain in the attacking zone despite the fact that the attacking team was technically responsible for the stoppage in play: Shots at the net by a player on the attacking team where: (i) the shot breaks the glass; (ii) the shot goes off the side of the net and deflects out of play; (iii) the shot goes off the dasher boards or glass and deflects out of play; (iv) the shot is tipped or deflected out of play by a teammate; and (v) the shot becomes wedged in or on the exterior of the goal net. In addition, the following rule change will be enacted for the 2014 preseason and may be continued for the 2014-15 regular season if approved by the League and the NHLPA.

BUILDING INFORMATION ALCOHOL Guests of CONSOL Energy Center must be 21 years of age or older to purchase and/or consume alcoholic beverages. ARAMARK reserves the right to check proof of legal drinking age. There is a maximum of TWO (2) alcoholic beverages per purchase at all concession stands and portable vendors. For Pittsburgh Penguins games, all alcohol sales within the arena will conclude at the beginning of the third period. Individual concerts and events are determined on a show-by-show basis.

ATM MACHINES For the convenience of our fans, ATMs are available in CONSOL Energy Center: First Niagara Bank - Outside section 119 and 230, and in the lobby of the Trib Total Media Gate PNC Bank on PNC Legends Level - Outside of party suite 44 and suite 13

BAGS, BACKPACKS AND PURSES For security purposes, only small personal bags (purses, baby or diaper bags, etc.) will be permitted inside CONSOL Energy Center and all items are subject to search upon entrance. Large bags, coolers, backpacks and sealed packages, including gifts for performers and/or athletes of any kind are not permitted unless otherwise noted on the individual event page.

BANNERS AND SIGNS Banners and signs are permitted for most events, providing they are appropriate, as deemed by building management. Signs must not be commercial in nature or utilize wood, metal or other types of objects for support. They cannot be hung or fastened anywhere in the building or in any way obstruct another guest’s view or building signage.

AUTOMOTIVE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM AAA will have a “Puck Truck” at all Penguins home games. The “Puck Truck” is available to assist patrons that have trouble with their vehicles in CONSOL Energy Center lots only. Fans can call 1.800.AAA.HELP after the start of the third period.

BABY CHANGING STATIONS Baby changing stations are available in all restrooms, located on all seating levels of CONSOL Energy Center.

In return for safe and sober transportation of their group from CONSOL Energy Center, the designated driver will receive a coupon redeemable for a complimentary soft drink during the game.

DOORS OPEN Doors generally open one (1) hour prior to the start of an event at CONSOL Energy Center, including Pittsburgh Penguins games. Please check the individual event page for further information. CONSOL Energy Center has a no re-entry policy; once you leave the building during an event, you will not be permitted to return.

EMERGENCY EVACUATION In the event of an emergency, CONSOL Energy Center staff will utilize the public address (PA) system

FAMILY RESTROOMS Family restrooms are available on all levels of CONSOL Energy Center near sections 106/107, 108, 115, 121, 213, 225, party suite 44 and suite 13.

FIRST AID There are two (2) UPMC First Aid Stations, one on each level of CONSOL Energy Center. UPMC First Aid is located adjacent to the Guest Services office outside section 104 and behind the concession stand at section 232.

WHEELCHAIRS A limited number of wheelchairs are available for transporting guests that are disabled to their seating location. Guests can be transported from the gates to their seats.
