Hi, my name is Jack! I live on a farm with Dad, Mum, my sister Sal and Meg the sheepdog. I can help out with all kinds of jobs. I just love being a farmer in training.

The bright June skies were clear and fine, The farm was busy - it was shearing time. Dad pulled on his wellies and set off to the fields, Jack followed closely, with Meg at his heels.

With a bark and a shout, Ai

the sheep gathered in, The day stretched before them... the sun wore a grin.

Dad squirted oil on the shearing machine,

Meg stood guard - watchful, snarling and mean. But Jack was concerned as he stood at the gate,

Where was Jimmy, the workman? He was running late.

They needed his help - they wanted to start! The sheep needed shearing,

on the double, quick-smart.

He was rolling the next fleece all on his own, When a bike scattered the hens and he gave a loud groan.

Just as Jack was starting to get into his stride,

He was delivered a blow, crushing his insides. Jimmy the helper was there, smiling, as he stood at the gate,

“I’ll take it from here, Jack. Sorry I’m late.” But, Jack knows there’s no use in complaining, It’s just not easy when you’re a farmer in training.
