Letters from the
Chair of the Board & the President / Sometime prior to the summer of 1987 our sovereign God regenerated my heart that had been stone cold toward Him. He then used Billy Graham that year to speak the gospel into this new heart of flesh. Thus began a slow journey of Christian growth. In 1995, this same sovereign God used another organization to rock my world. It was a Promise Keepers event in Detroit, Michigan where I was witness to the intensity and intentionality with which men were called to love God and His Word! That had never been modeled for me. What was deposited in my heart through those two ministries led to a lifelong and exciting journey of spiritual growth and a deep appreciation for both the local church and para-church ministries. I spent a good deal of time in the trenches in this ministry as a volunteer serving in a wide variety of ways. However, life is a journey and I am deeply humbled to serve as your current Chair of the Board of Promise Keepers Canada | Impactus. Hey, why not join a governance board of a national ministry when it’s re-branding and going global......followed by a beloved president leaving the ministry......followed by a global pandemic....? Why? The answer is because we serve that same sovereign God who chose to save me from myself and from His eternal wrath, and He is sovereign over this ministry - His ministry to men! I know that the countless volunteers who have given time, energy, and financial support to make Promise Keepers Canada a well-established 25-year national ministry are the backbone of all Christian ministry. Volunteers, however, need strong leadership. The staff of Promise Keepers Canada | Impactus is a gifted and committed group that directs our mission to equip men for a life of purpose and godly impact. This staff is being capably led into the future by our new president, Dean Brenton. This ministry is also deeply appreciative of those who support us financially in significant ways. All the above pieces, when combined, bode well for the ministry’s journey into the unchartered waters of a post-pandemic world. If we seek the wisdom of our sovereign God, and His hand is in this, what we do today will count forever in an untold number of lives! Grace and Peace!
James G. (Jamie) McArthur Chairman of the Board

PROMISE KEEPERS CANADA | IMPACTUS
/ “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:3-6 (NIV) These words of the Apostle Paul to the believers in Philippi are apropos for this moment. As I pen this first ministry annual report, my heart is full of gratitude. I am grateful for the opportunity to share this report and serve in this capacity. I am humbled to stand on the shoulders of great leaders who have built this ministry over the past 25+ years. I am grateful to you for your prayers, participation, and partnership in the Gospel. I am grateful to God for His guidance, wisdom, and faithfulness.
Dean Brenton President
I am also thankful for the discernment of out ministry leadership, board, and staff, who just a few years ago envisioned a new ministry path and persona. They courageously led us toward a pivotal transformation from an event-centered to an online-centered ministry. When the pandemic began, it was as if God had been preparing us for this very moment…and He had. We have come through and are still coming through “unprecedented” times. We have experienced three tsunamis of a ministry re-brand, leadership transition, and a global pandemic. Any one of these could derail an organization, but God’s hand has guided us and His favor has rested on us. There have never been more ministry obstacles (rapid societal changes, competing worldviews, polarized communities, eroding church culture, the uncertainties of a post-pandemic, post-Christendom world, to name a few) but never more significant opportunities. I believe the role that Impactus can play in the future has never been more significant and never more needed. This past year we have exceeded one million ministry interactions, a goal we had only dreamed of a few years ago. Behind every interaction is a spiritual conversation, content, and connection designed to help men become, grow, and live as disciples of Jesus. As we re-imagine the future of this ministry, it will be one laser-focused on discipleship and mission. The task is great. God is greater. Last year, our outgoing President, Kirk Giles, noted: “God is not surprised by this pandemic, and He is still the leader of this ministry.” I affirm and echo those words today. The unknowns of the future are held in the arms of a loving, heavenly Father who is already there, inviting us and leading us forward. As we approach the beginning of the end of the pandemic, we can glimpse the beginnings of all that God wants to do as we commit to equipping men for a life of purpose and godly impact. We hold this confidence that the one “…who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” In His Service!

Developing & Encouraging Leaders to Invest in the Lives of Men MEN’S MINISTRY LEADERSHIP TRAINING / Men’s Ministry Leadership Training equips local churches to build a framework for the discipleship of every man in their church. It moves ministry to men from random events to intentional focus on shaping men to be like Jesus. This year we re-branded Blueprint to Men’s Ministry Leadership Training and developed 2 levels of training:
101
A basic introduction that helps leaders understand how to launch or re-launch their men’s ministry. Helping men develop their leadership team, and understanding how to communicate the heart and vision of men’s ministry, 101 sets the stage for taking 102.
102
For men’s ministry leaders who have a leadership team in place, 102 teaches men how to practically develop men’s ministry in their church.
All of our training this past year was conducted online, allowing leaders from around the world to participate. We trained 60 leaders in 101 or 102, with a total of 490 churches now trained since we first launched our Blueprint Leadership Training program.
COACHING / Every successful team requires great coaching. This past year we developed coaching opportunities with 5 organizations and look to grow ongoing leadership coaching for local church volunteers and staff leading men’s ministry.

ONLINE SMALL GROUPS Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17
/ One of the best ways for men to support, encourage and sharpen one another is through small groups. We encourage men to be involved in small groups through their church, and we provide resources for these groups. However, some men don’t have access to a small group.
This past year we held 7 online small groups with 57 men from around the world, dealing with topics such as Stress & Anxiety, Porn & Purity, Anger and more.
SMALL GROUP LEADER TRAINING / We are developing a small group leader training curriculum to teach men how to effectively lead both topical and relational small groups. Administered through local networks, we will pilot the training in selected churches and networks before rolling out globally in FY23.

We also moved to a new database in FY21 that fully integrates with our website and a new email platform. Our team did an incredible job managing all of the details and navigating the unprecedented change that took place over the past year. Impactus is a Latin word that means “to press closely in to something”. Impactus is all about equipping men for a life of purpose and godly impact. Impactus is so much more than a name. We will continue the tradition of inperson conferences and events, but our new direction as an online-centered ministry has allowed us to reach and support more men this year than ever before. Men who: • primarily learn and interact online • are located around the world This past year we had over 176,000 unique visits to impactus.org compared to 100,000 on the promisekeepers.ca website the previous year. In FY21 our website traffic changed from 80% from Canada, 15% from the United States and 5% from outside of North America to: • 25% from Canada • 20% from the United States • 55% from outside of North America We had numerous men from international countries take part in: • Men’s Ministry Leadership Training • Online Workshops • the Impactus Virtual Conference in April You can still view the Impactus conference here: impactus.org/conference. On August 30, 2021, we will re-brand as Impactus | Promise Keepers Canada with the goal of moving exclusively to Impactus in the fall of 2022.
