PLANNING AUTHORITY TARGETS NEAR ZERO ENERGY CONSUMPTION
The planning authority has concluded work on its premises in Floriana in line with its ambitious Objective to bring the authority’s premises to nearly zero energy consumption by 2018. Parts of the Planning Authority premises date back to 250 years ago. They were originally used as ancillary military buildings by the Order of St John, and were then utilised by the British military as barracks. Read More

The Planning Authority’s direct action team, re-enforced with a large fleet of machinery provided by the Works and Infrastructure Department and Cleansing Directorate moved in to remove tons of illegal material from two scrapyards which extended over a number of agricultural fields in an ODZ area known as Ix-Xerriek, limits of Birzebbugia. News IL-FIERA L-KBIRA AT MONTEKRISTO ESTATES The Planning Authority makes reference to a statement issued earlier today by the organisers of Il-Fiera l-Kbira at Montekristo Estate. News PROPOSED IKLIN FUEL STATION WITHDRAWN
An outline application for a proposed fuel station to be built along the arterial Birkirkara bypass, limits of Iklin, was withdrawn earlier today by the applicant, two days before it was scheduled to be discussed and decided by the Planning Authority Board. Read More
Protecting Buildings and Monuments in Valletta ST. JOHN CO-CATHEDRAL St. John’s Co-Cathedral was originally conceived as the main place of worship for the Knights of St. John. It is one of the masterpieces of the Maltese architect Gerolamo Cassar. Its construction began soon after 1566.
