Statistics 2016 IN NUMBERS During the year 2016 the Planning Authority approved over 6000 new apartments, 706 maisonettes and 297 terraced houses. Planning Decision OLD RELIGIOUS NICHES IN BIRKIRKARA TO BE RESTORED The Planning Commission approved planning permission for restoration works to be carried out on three old religious niches situated around the locality of Birkirakara. The statues include the corner niche of St Vincent Ferrer, located along Triq Santu Rokku corner with Triq L-Msida, the niche of St. Helen, which is found in one of the corners along Triq Santa Liena corner with the Church Square and the niche dedicated to the Immaculate Conception situated also in Triq Santu Rokku corner with Sqaq Karla. Public Consultation PUBLIC CONSULTATION FOR TAL-BAJJAD AREA IN QORMI EXTENDED BY FURTHER 6 WEEKS The Planning Authority has extended by a further 6 weeks the public consultation related to the revised policy framework for the area of Tal-Bajjad in Qormi. The purpose of this policy review is to address the conflicting development patterns which currently exist leading to the deterioration of the quality of life of residents living within the area. Protecting Buildings and Monuments in Valletta GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH The Greek Orthodox Church is located in Cotoner block and its entrance is through a portal which is one of a series and similar to others in the same block. This part was reconstructed after the war after sustaining heavy damage from aerial bombardment, however the reconstruction was very faithful to the original. Read More
