VALLETTA DEVELOPMENT APPLICATIONS PROPERLY SCRUTINIZED

The Planning Authority can confirm that it is in continual discussions with the Ambassador for UNESCO and the Superintendent for Cultural Heritage to ensure that proposed development applications and ongoing work in Valletta do not, in anyway, compromise the urban harmony and skyline of the city which amongst other factors makes it a UNESCO World Heritage site. PA EMPLOYEES VISIT ST PAUL’S CATACOMBS Last week the Planning Authority organised a social and cultural event at St Paul’s Catacombs in Rabat for its employees and their family. Besides being an educational experience the event also served as a platform for the employees and their families to socialize and get to know each other better. Read More

Statistics

DWELLINGS APPROVED IN DECEMBER

During the month of December, there was an increase in the number of approved dwellings over the previous years. The Planning Authority approved 597 new apartments, 81 maisonettes and 14 terraced houses. Also during the month of December, statistics show a significant increase in the number of validated development planning applications, over the corresponding period of the previous year. Read more

INFORMATION SESSIONS FOR PERITI

The Planning Authority in collaboration with KTP will be organising two information sessions (one in Malta and one in Gozo) about two separate funding initiatives, one aimed at further assisting in the regeneration of Malta’s village core areas and another which seeks to promote local projects which can leave an impact and improve the quality of life for residents. Protecting Buildings and Monuments in Valletta THE BIBLIOTHECA The Bibliotheca was built in the Neo-classical style to the design of architect Stefano Ittar and was completed under the supervision of the local architect Antonio Cachia.
