ALPS introduces New Large Bottle Version of High Speed Linear Leak Tester ALPS (Air Logic Power Systems) of Wisconsin USA, a global leader of in-line container leak inspection equipment, have released a new version of their successful Speed Glider high speed linear leak tester, called the Speed Glider 3.85 that has been specifically designed for larger container sizes. The 3 station continuous motion leak tester is capable of rates up to 185 bottles per minute and has a container pitch of 266mm and is nominally capable of container heights of up to 215mm. The Timing Screw provides positive container handling and control, in order to ensure high

efficiencies and quick/efficient changeovers at the higher rate demands. The system can be easily mounted to existing contiuous conveyor systems, eliminating the need for additional conveyors and bottle transfers. Cameras for vision inspection can be placed after the leak tester, with the leak tester's timing screw acting as an automatic spacing device. The Speed Glider 3.85 offers a higher speed, higher efficiency and easier to setup/changeover alternative to "bottle stop" linear leak testers that stop containers 'on the fly' using cylinders.

Business Vision – Don‘t be Without it By Scott Bywater

Have you ever heard the saying… ―Be true to yourself‖? Let‘s look into that saying a little more deeply. Because you essentially have two selves… 1. A Past Self 2. A Future Self Being true to your past self is easy – you just require a sharp memory and the ability to do what you have always done. Simple, really – but remember: if nothing changes, nothing changes. However, if you are going to be true to your future self, you need something very few people possess… VISION That‘s right. Without vision, you will wander aimlessly. Without vision, you won‘t know what to focus on. Without vision, you will allow others to direct you and guide you off the path. The truth is, vision is the most important asset you have… and when it becomes stronger than your memory, you will transform your future. Anthony Robbins says: the past does not equal the future. But it does if you dwell in your memories instead of your vision. So today, take some time to invest in clarifying your vision. Decide what you want. Because whether you realise it or not… What you see is almost always what you get. Master the art of SEEING better and you will BECOME better. Do you want to learn the easiest way to get more customers fast? Leading advertising copywriter, Scott Bywater, has just completed his brand new guide "7 Ways to Get More Customers" where he outline everything so it's as easy as 1, 2... 3. Reprinted from editorial, manufacturers Monthly, August issue -- Cole Latimer - Managing Editor

Are we in for a new Industrial Revolution? Digital revolution perhaps? Every day the crew here at manufacturers monthly he is the major newspapers sending the death knell for the manufacturing industry, but what they failed to understand is that the industry isn't dying. Not in the slightest – it is evolving, and changing into something new. We are entering new territory here – 3-D printing while it is been around for a while now, the technology in capability to mass-produce extremely high quality and unique products using the process hasn't really been around until fairly recently. Smaller 3-D printing machines, the capability of producing highly machined parts, and working parties opening new doors manufacturers and others outside of the industry. The new technology is also opening up the world manufacturing to more people outside of the wider Australian primary and secondary industries, allowing for amazing designs and products are previously wouldn't have been possible to construct without major investment. An 3-D printing has really captured the imagination of the general public in a way that the previous manufacturing industry was never able to. Sitting within the manufacturing industry as we do, we know how this technology has been utilised for some time, but this rampant uptake of its potential over the last few years is simply astounding. 3-D printing festival, a new makers movement, the London School of design has even installed 3-D printers and its museum to allow members of the general public to make things. The way things are picking up, almost without many noticing, must be reminiscent of the swift, almost overnight buildup experienced by those during the Industrial Revolution. Except this is now putting the revolution in the hands of the people, instead of a few of the capacity and finance to mass-produce. It could even lead to a revival of cottage industries, as people take the manufacturing of specialist goods in small batches back in their homes or smaller factories. And all of this is supported by the widespread use of CAD and came helping people to access these designs. Cloud computing and the infinite computing ability provides is also helping the smaller manufacturers to a degree. Sophisticated modelling and more's simulations can be carried out faster, even from the home. It also takes away the capital intensive nature inherent to manufacturing. Within a generation or two we could see the end to massive factories, as more people move to the cloud and trade designs, and they white have the large overheads in terms of planet and site.
