Welcome readers, to Issue 06 of PLATFORM Magazine: 'Fashion'. We hope that you are all reading this wearing some crazy足fabulous outfit, blaring Bowie's 'Fashion' out from your speakers and revelling in it's wonderfull足ness. As always, we're thrilled with our selection of images this issue (though we're slightly gutted not to have any male spreads, beyond some lovely man shoes...). I'm sure you'll notice that there's a new addition to PLATFORM Magazine... the wonderful double page spread! Hopefully you're as excited as we are about this new formatting wonder. Don't forget to subscribe to our mailing list at www.platform足mag.co.uk, if you like what you see and spread the word! Happy looking, Kerry Grainger Editor PLATFORM Magazine www.platform足mag.co.uk

''I like the real and the surreal to come up in a photo, and I love that you never know for sure what exactly comes first every time. In any photo I like appearances of light, color and something simple most of all.''

''We are constantly inspired by human beings. Faces and bodies. Stories and characters.''

''We like to talk and listen, watch and see, live and travel. Laughing and taking photographs in between.''

''I was given my first camera - a polaroid - by my parents when I was 11 years old. I used it to photograph my family and friends who dressed up in silly clothes and posed for me. I continued to do this with my college friends and eventually through word of mouth and social networking people interested in my work began contacting me for photos.''

''Initially photography was just a hobby, but once I graduated college with no career prospects I pursued it more seriously. My favorite things to take pictures of are fashion and people.''

Hana Haley 23, from a small town of Portland, Oregon called Estacada; lives in the sunniest neighbourhood (the mission) in San Franscisco, California.

Photography is...a passport into another’s life—into their eyes or into their mind. It can be brutally truthful or it can be all illusion. I find photography to be a type of immortality. It’s how we stay on earth for longer than we were invited—we give little bits and pieces of ourselves away in pictures for someone else to see.

''I take photos for the same reason I go to sleep: to dream. My very first camera was a tiny digital point-and-shoot that I used to photograph my friends jumping on beds or eating candy at 2 a.m. while our parents slept. I was 14. When I was 18 I became interested in fashion photography. I had just moved to San Francisco and was a daydreaming addict. Photographing strangers in vintage clothing was a way for me to imagine movies and characters in my head that never existed before. That probably is my favorite thing to photograph—vintage clothes.''

''Ideally I would be a very well dressed filmmaker with a pet dachshund in my future career.''

''Sometimes my mind feels like a ferris wheel of projects that go around and return.''

''For as long as I can remember, I have been interested in creating. I've always loved art, music and everything between.''

''When I first picked up a camera about 5 years ago, it just felt natural to me. The more time I spent taking photos and playing around with photography and editing, the more I fell in love with it!''

''While I am quite shy in person, taking photos has lead me to get to know people in a way I never imagined.''
