Do 4 Self Records is an independent label based in Chicago, IL. The label was founded by the CEO, Larnell Palmer, who had a vision of helping indie artists in Chicago.

Born Larnell Palmer II on March 15, Larnell was raised on the South side of Chicago in an area plagued by drug infestation, gangs and gun violence that is presently referred to today by many across the nation as ”Chi-Raq”. Raised by two strong parents that were determined to see their son outgrow his surroundings, Larnell turned to rap music at a very early age in an attempt to channel his talent in a more positive direction and to escape the poverty that surrounded him. At the age of thirteen, he began writing his own lyrics and performing for locals, gaining many loyal followers. In 1999, under former alias, Black Majik, he joined the group Soldiers of War. Collectively, the group’s self-titled debut album sold more than 100,000 copies in Chicago alone. Recognizing his passion for writing, his gift of creativity and his hunger for individualism, he shed the shadow of being a group member and set out on the journey of establishing a name for himself. This new persona came with a new name, “Black Kadafi” as well as a new vision: Success.
From 2002-2013, he has worked hard to make a name for himself. Mr. Palmer aka Black Kadafi went on to experiment with writing, producing, managing and performing. Merging jaw dropping lyrics with hot new tracks, Black Kadafi knew there was no place to go from here but up. With musical influences from artists to include Master P, Scarface and J Prince, Black Kadafi expanded his musical roots by producing and starring in videos currently showcased on social media circuits such as “Youtube” that have been viewed by tens of thousands of people from around the world. From hardcore Hip Hop rap to the creation of a fun rap song for kids entitled: Chicken Nugget in which his daughter Bailey is featured, Black Kadafi definitely brings versatility to the music game. With over hundreds of group and solo performances under his belt, Black Kadafi who has always aspired to achieve more, dedicates his free time to dreaming outside the box. Performing at venues to include: The Congress Theatre, Adrianna’s, The Harold Washington Cultural Center, Subterranean, The Metro, The Double Door, Columbia College and even an audition at The Apollo Theatre in New York there is no stopping this new and upcoming determined artist. Performances, both local and on the road, Black Kadafi has
opened for artist to include: Yo Gotti, YG, Too Short, Pit Bull, Mobb Deep, King Louie, Lil Dirk, Trina, Trick Daddy, Lil Flip, Sicko Mobb, Twista, Do or Die, East Side Boyz and many others. Yearning to find the missing piece to the puzzle that once complete, will depict his masterpiece, in 2006, Black Kadafi returned to school to learn the business aspect of music. After attending both Columbia College and Lewis University in 2008, he went on graduate from Northwestern Business College with a Certificate in Business Administration. Using this newly acquired knowledge to redefine his path to success, in 2013 Black Kadafi recently underwent another phase of his lyrical genius metamorphosis, shedding the hardcore Hip Hop appearance for a businessman persona. This new brand includes a new name. Please welcome: Mr. Palmer. Delivery of these hot, razor sharp lyrics in a suit is sure to surprise many. This new stage savvy combination of jaw dropping lyrics, hardcore tracks delivered with an electrifying stage performance is sure to make the crowds continue to return for more.

CELS Recording Artist
This Chicago rapper/song writer known by the name of Cels. He have a powerful voice with hardcore lyrical rhymes. Growing up in one of the toughest cities ever and is also known as the home of some of the big name gangsters such as Larry Hoover, Jeff Fort, Al Capone and many more. This rapper has had it rough getting involved in the ruthless gang life and dealing drugs at an early age. This hardcore rapper knew that he needed an escape from that route so music became his first love. Cels starting out making music as just a hobby, but it was something about that voice of Cels and those hot lyrics. Many people in the music business had motivated Cels to take his career to the next level. Years past but Cels never stopped rhyming and he became better and better. As time went on he met Larnell Palmer II the CEO of King & Emp Entertainment. He helped develop Cels into the strong minded artist by giving him knowledge of the game and much more. Cels got ahead quickly through various DJs began putting him on multiple mixtapes. Now in 2013, Cels is currently signed to Larnell Palmer II new record label Do4Self Records. Cels is ready to drop hit singles and flood all over in the streets. He is ready to set the world on fire with his creative mind and powerful lyrics. So stay tuned.
Candice Caprice Recording Artist
Candice Caprice, also known as Felicia Renee Scott, was born in Chicago, Illinois Caprice start rapping in her late teen years with the influences of hip hop and r&b legends.. such as Mc Lyte, Queen Latifah, Eve, and many more influential African american women artist. In late 2013, Candice met Larnell Palmer, C.E.O. of Do4Self Records. Mr. Palmer saw the potential in her and decided to sign her to the label. Candice Caprice defines herself as a Model/Rapper. Candice current single, “I Don’t Need You” has created a heck of a buzz that it has a lot of females labeling it as the new woman’ s anthem.
Frank Jones Recording Artist
Franklin Raoul Jones A.K.A. Frank Jones is an Illinois poet laureate and world champion drill team alumni, who met a few bumps in this road to manhood. Raised by a permitting family and the streets of Chicago this only boy gain thousand of brothers who were influenced by hip-hop and gangsta rap;which gave him the motivation to take a chance to enter into the what we call today as the music industry .While gaining much support from the brothers of the streets and others. Frank claims his style to be “ILL” Simply Put” and going on to win countless competitions. Frank created a buzz as being the next artist to blow which caught the attention of Do4Self Records Ceo; Larnell Palmer II. Now signed to Do 4 Self Records, Frank Jones is preparing for the mixtape ‘Call Me What You Want”, which will include his current single ,“Fuck U Mean”. Now promoting his single “Fuck U Mean?????!!!!!! off the forthcoming album/mixtape.
Miss Bailey was born July 8th 2006 in Evanston IL. A few months after she moved to South Holland IL and as a baby she was very gifted. She was able to learn things very quickly so her parents knew her capabilities she carries. At age 4, all she wanted from McDonalds was chicken nuggets so her father Larnell Palmer II C.E.O. of Do4Self Records of Do4Self Records decided to make a song called “Chicken Nugget”. He felt then Miss Bailey who was 4 years old had the voice and skill to record the song. Miss Bailey and her dad recorded the song and came out with a masterpiece. Larnell says, “This is a song that every kid loves. I have passed out over a thousand cds at the time to get parents and kids a taste of the song. Everyone has gave me great feed back and their kids loves the song. Many of the kids who has the cd still play this song to this day”. At age 4, Larnell felt she wasn’t ready to perform and wasn’t going to force her. Now at age 6, she is signed with Do4Self Records and is now ready to explore. Chicken Nugget has the chance to go world wide in the kids market. There aren’t enough songs for the kids. This song has the opportunity to reach different markets such as*disney, Nick jr, Channel 11, Kids Bop, etc. Miss Bailey did the music video for “Chicken Nugget” and it’s now on youtube. Miss Bailey will soon be a big impact to the world.
